A Mural by Emic from Northern Ireland, in Madaba as part of an intersection between Baladk and Hakaya Storytelling Festival; telling stories through street art. The design contains a bouquet of wild flowers found in Madaba featuring buds, flowers in bloom, and flowers that are dying. The flowers bloom, making the world more beautiful, serve their purpose, and then die. It’s like a condensed versions of the story of life. The design also includes patterns from the traditional Madaba carpets introduced to us through Wadi Ma’aia the last carpet maker using the Nol in Madaba.

جدارية للفنان الأيرلندي ايميك في مدينة مادبا ضمن مشروع تعاوني لبلدك ومهرجان حكايا لنروي الحكايات من خلال فن الشارع. العمل يتكون من باقة من الزهور البرية التي تنبت في مادبا فيها براعم، زهور متفتحة وزهور ذابلة. الازهار تتفتح لتجعل العالم مكان أجمل، تحقق هدفها ثم تذبل. بشكل أو بآخر هي حكاية مصغرة من دورة الحياة. يحتوي التصميم أيضاً على نقشات من البساط التقليدي من مدينة مادبا الذي تعرفنا عليه من خلال السيد وديع معايعة آخر شخص يعمل على النول لصنع البسط التقليدية.

بالتعاون مع المجلس الثقافي البريطاني - مشروع فضاءات، وزارة الثقافة، والوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية.

About Boa Mistura:
Boa Mistura is a multidisciplinary team with roots in graffiti born at the end of 2001 in Madrid. Their work is mainly developed in public space and they understand their work as a tool to transform the city and create links between people.

كجزء من مهرجان بلدك ٢٠٢٢، رسمت الفنانة الإندونيسية يسيو جدارية حول موضوع الصحة النفسية بمساعدة الفنان ستان.

التصميم مستوحى من المفهوم الإندونيسي ل غوتونغ رويونغ. يدور هذا المفهوم حول التعاون المتبادل، لتقاسم الأعباء بين أفراد المجتمع. يمكن أن يتطور هذا التفاعل نحو صداقات عميقة بين أفراد المجتمع مبنية على الثقة المتبادلة. تصور الجدارية امرأتين تتشاركان أعبائهما وتدعمان بعضهما البعض. بهذه الطريقة يمكن أن يساعد غوتونغ رويونغ في معالجة قضية التصورات العامة والمفاهيم الخاطئة المحيطة بالصحة النفسية ، والمساعدة في تطبيع النقاش حولها.

As part of Baladk 2022 Indonesian artist Yessiow painted a mural under the theme of mental health with the assistance of Stijn.

The design is inspired by the Indonesian concept of Gotong Royong. This concept is about mutual cooperation, as an obligation of individuals towards society to share burdens between the member of community. This interaction can develop towards meaningful long lasting friendships between the members of community and build trust. The image depicts two women sharing their burdens and supporting each other. In this way Gotong Royong can help tackle the issue of public perceptions and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, and help normalising the discussion about it.

Baladk 2022 presents a mural by our artist in residence Abdullah Hafez tackling the theme of mental health. The mural was a result of the five-week residency under the mentorship of and .mesmar . This mural was inspired by two poems Abdullah wrote “Ah Ya Nafsy” and “My Letter in a Bottle”.

“I wanted to illustrate something that would invite a discussion instead of a statement; an invitation to a dialogue from the one with the mental illness to those that pass by in order to bridge a link and reduce the solitude” – Abdullah Hafez

تحت شعار أهمية المساواة في التعليم، انجز مشروع بلدك 2022 جدارية للفنان يزن مسمار في إربد. تُصوّر الجدارية شابة ترتدي لباسًا تقليديًا من إربد وتحمل كتاب بيدها. تضع الشابة أيضًا تاج قمح وتحمل بعضًا منه بيدها، بينما تحيط بها الغيوم. يستحضر يزن صور القمح والغيوم من طفولته؛ فقد نشأ في إربد، وهي مدينة لها تاريخ كبير في زراعة القمح.

تم انجاز هذه الجدارية بدعمٍ من وزارة الثقافة الأردنية ضمن احتفالية اربد عاصمة الثقافة العربية ، وضمن مشروع بلدك 2022 بالشراكة مع الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية وبالتعاون مع ميد آرتس وكراج إربد

عن الفنانين
يزن مسمار فنان ومصمم بصري. يعمل في الرسم والتصميم بشكل احترافي منذ عام 2014، وهو متخصص في فن الشارع ومشاريع الإخراج الإبداعي. يهدف يزن إلى مواصلة التعاون في مشاريع أكبر على المستوى الدولي لتعريف المجتمعات الدولية بالثقافة الأردنية.

ساعد يزن في هذا العمل عبد الله حافظ؛ الفنان المقيم ضمن مهرجان "بلدك"، وهو رسام وكاتب، يبلغ من العمر 26 عامًا، ويحمل درجة البكالوريوس في التصميم والاتصال المرئي من الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية

Under the theme of the importance of equal education Baladk 2022 present a mural by Yazan MesmarYazan Mesmar. The mural depicts a young woman wearing a traditional dress from Irbid and carrying a certificate. The young woman also has a wheat crown and carrying some in her hand while surrounded with ethereal clouds. Yazan conjures the images of wheat and clouds from his own childhood having grown up in Irbid itself, a city with significant history of growing wheat.

About the Artists
Yazan Mesmar is an artist and a visual designer. He’s been painting and designing professionally since 2014, specializing in street art and projects creative directing. Yazan’s aim is to continue to collaborate on bigger projects at the international scale introducing the communities to the Jordanian culture.

Assisting Yazan is Abdullah Hafez the artist in residence at Baladk. Her is a 26 years old thinker, writer and illustrator. He holds bachelor's degree in design and visual communication from the German Jordanian university

This mural is supported by the Ministry of Culture as part of Irbid the capital of Arab Culture celebrations. Baladk 2022 is supported by AFD - Agence Française de Développement and in collaboration with كراج-Garage and MedeArtsMedeArts

بدعم من وزارة الثقافة الأردنية قام مسرح البلد بتنفيذ جدارية للشاعر مصطفى وهبي التل "عرار" في مدينة إربد، وذلك ضمن احتفالات إربد عاصمة الثقافة والفنون العربية، حيث تم اختيار الشاعر الأردني رمزاً عربياً للثقافة لعام ٢٠٢٢ من قبل المنظمة العربية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم (الألكسو).

قام بتصميم الجدارية الفنان يزن مسمار، حيث تم تصميمها بطريقة كلاسيكية لكن مع وجود عنصر فني إضافي لكسر النمطية في الرماديات بوجود نمط معاكس مشابه للتحبير داخل المستطيل ليمثل ادبه و حبره الموجه للبسطاء، بالإضافة إلى زهرة النرجس البري المقترنة بلقبه "عرار".

يسعدنا أن نعلن عن إطلاق مشروع “العالم معكوس" والذي يقوم على تعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية من خلال ورش عمل إبداعية تستهدف شرائح مختلفة من المجتمع، من نساء وأطفال وشباب، في الريف القدسي. سينتج عن هذه الورش تصميم وتنفيذ جداريات في الفضاءات العامة في هذه التجمعات لتعبر عن خصوصيتها وتعكس القضايا الأكثر إلحاحا بالنسبة لها. يأتي هذا العمل ضمن مشروع #رواق "طوق النجاة" الذي يهدف إلى إعادة إحياء وتطوير الريف المقدسي ومن خلال مشروع الثقافة والفنون والمشاركة المجتمعية بتمويل مشترك ما بين مؤسسة عبد المحسن #القطان و للتنمية والتعاون. باستخدام فن رسم الجداريات يهدف المشروع إلى إبراز دور الفئات المهمشة في تشكيل بيئتها، وإلى تعزيز ملكية المجتمعات المحلية لفضائها العام كمساحات جمعيّة للتبادل المعرفي والاجتماعي والثقافي. يتم تنفيذ المشروع بالشراكة مع / الأردن، وبدعم من رام الله و .

وبمناسبة إطلاق المشروع، سيقوم رواق يوم السبت الموافق 23/10/2021 بترميم جدارية الفنان محمد جولاني في الذكرى السنوية الأولى على رحيله، وعليه نود دعوتكم لمشاركتنا إضاءة الشموع وبعض الكلمات من القلب في تمام الساعة الخامسة مساء في البلدة القديمة في كفر عقب.

We are happy to announce the launching of “The World Reversed” project which aims to promote community participation through creative workshops, targeting different community groups including women, children and youth, in rural Jerusalem. These workshops will inspire the design and implementation of different murals in public spaces expressing the community’s struggles and concerns. This work is part of ’s "Life Jacket Project,” which aims to revitalize and develop rural Jerusalem. The project is supported by “Culture, Art and Social Engagement” Project that is co-funded by the A.M. and the for Development and Cooperation. Through its participatory approach, and by using the art of murals, the project aims to highlight the role of marginalized groups and to enhance local communities' ownership over their public and open spaces as common arenas for knowledge production and cultural interaction. The project is implemented in partnership with Baladk/Jordan Festival, and is also funded by -Institut Ramallah and APC.

In the loving memory of the late Mohammad Joulani who left us a year ago, Riwaq will renovate his mural painting on Saturday 23rd of October. Join us in the candles lighting and speeches commemorating his life and work in the historic center of Kafr ‘Aqab at 5:00 p.m.

A mural by Alexander Isakov for Baladk 2021.

Alexander is an independent street artist whose work resides on a spectrum connecting architecture and ornamentation. Isakov’s personal style is defined by delicate patterns, architectural shapes and colorful accents, drawing inspiration from all sorts of architectural cultures.

The created mural in the Northern Hashmi district resembles an abstract composition that hints a fountain and plays with the building’s simple architecture. This mural allows us to be taken in by its colors and sharp lines. We can see emotions, sensations, cultural exchange and memories emerge.

Let your eyes relax and travel around the piece. Examine the colors, forms, materials, surface, and how they interact with each other.

جدارية للفنان ألكسندر إيزاكوف لمهرجان بلدك 2021.

الكسندر ايزكوف هو فنان شارع مستقل ترتكز أعماله على الربط بين العِمارة وفن الزخرفة. أسلوب إيساكوف يتمحور حول الأنماط الدقيقة والأشكال المعمارية الملونة حيث يستوحي اعماله وخطوطه من جميع أنواع الثقافات المعمارية حول العالم.

الجدارية التي رسمها في منطقة الهاشمي الشمالي تعبر عن تركيبة مجردة وتلمح إلى وجود نافورة وتداعب الشكل المعماري البسيط للمبنى. هذا العمل يمكّننا من ان نسمح لأنفسنا بالتمتع بألوان مجرّدة وخطوط حادة حتى نرى المشاعر والأحاسيس والتبادل الثقافي والذكريات ايضاً تظهربين الخطوط العريضة والألوان.
