The typhoon is still lingering over Japan, moving at a sluggish pace. The weather has been unpredictable, with the sun appearing briefly before it quickly turns dark and heavy rain falls every day. Please take care when going out.
Today, I'm preparing for my exhibition, setting up everything since tomorrow is the opening day. I'll be at Tully's Coffee around 3 PM and plan to stay for a while to meet friends who are dropping by. If you have time, I’d love for you to stop by. I won't be there every day, but if you let me know in advance, I’ll do my best to be there to personally thank you.
Conducting my final ocular inspection of the gallery floor at Tully's Coffee in Shinjuku to finalize which works to hang. It’s always best to visit when the shop is quiet, allowing time to fully consider the placement of each piece. I ordered an iced black coffee—it has just the right balance, neither too strong nor too weak.
My art exhibition, titled 'LOVE,' opens this coming Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Tully's Coffee Shinjuku Ni-chome. You can view the exhibit every day until October 31 on the second floor until 6 PM. Through my works, I hope you will discover and feel the enduring spirit of love, even in the midst of chaos not only happening in the world but within ourselves. Join me on this artistic journey over a cup of cafe latte, and let's explore the many facets of LOVE together.

Introducing 'Heartfelt Blossoms,' a new painting for my upcoming LOVE Art Exhibition on September 1 to October 31 at Tully's Coffee in Shinjuku Nichome, Tokyo. Come and see this piece along with my other works. The exhibition is open every day on the second floor until 6 PM. I hope to see you there!
I'm still sorting through my storage and deciding which paintings to feature in my upcoming exhibition. One piece from the 1990s, titled "3 Heads with 1 Heart," caught my eye. It has never been exhibited before, and it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten the exact meaning behind it or what I was trying to express at the time. But I love how the three heads share a single heart despite their differences. I'm considering including this piece in the exhibition. If you're curious to see the original painting and my other works, please visit my exhibition at Tully's Coffee, running from September 1 to October 31, 2024.
Three heads, one monster, their minds never align,
Different ideas, no shared design,
Yet in love, they unite, with one heart they strive,
Same purpose, same meaning, keeping love alive.

After my hospital visit this morning, I stopped by the Sompo Museum in Shinjuku to check out the current Toulouse-Lautrec Exhibition. The show featured a substantial collection of his lithograph prints and sketches, but despite the impressive number of pieces, I found myself underwhelmed. While his work captures the lively essence of Parisian nightlife, the exhibition lacked the depth or excitement I was hoping for. It felt repetitive and didn't leave a lasting impression. Perhaps I was expecting more variety to bring out the brilliance of his work.
Today, the delivery of my art exhibition postcards arrived, and I am very satisfied with the printing quality. These postcards will be available for free at the exhibition site at Tully's Coffee, so feel free to pick one or two up when you visit my art exhibition. If you can't make it to the exhibition but still want a postcard, just send me your postal address, and I'll be happy to mail one to you.
Time to say good-bye...
After so many years, they have hardened. I cannot use them anymore. Paint tubes are like people, too. If you don't close their lids tightly, they will harden. It's a gradual process, unnoticed at first. A little exposure to the air, a tiny crack in the seal, and the paint begins to lose its flexibility. Over time, it becomes stiff and unworkable, no longer capable of bringing color to the canvas.
People can be the same. If we don't nurture our relationships, keep the lines of communication open, and protect the bond we share, they can also become rigid and unresponsive. Small misunderstandings, unattended and unresolved, can accumulate. The warmth fades, and what was once a vibrant connection turns cold and unyielding.
Just like my paint tubes, neglected and forgotten, these relationships eventually become unusable. They remind me of the importance of care and attention, both in my art and in my life. Now, as I bid farewell to these hardened tubes, I am reminded to keep the lids tightly closed on the things that matter, to prevent them from hardening over time.
I've been down with a summer cold, taking time to rest whenever I get some energy but still preparing for my art exhibition in a few weeks. I'm still recovering and hoping to get better soon. I'm excited to open up the exhibition, titled "LOVE," where I'll showcase some old works I've never shown before, along with old works that I've repainted and added more elements to. The exhibition will be held at Tully's Coffee Shinjuku Nichome, Tokyo, running from September 1 (Sunday) to October 30 (Thursday), 2024. The first time I had a show here was in 2020, during the Tokyo Olympics. Now, four years later, with the Paris Olympics, I'm back here again. Come enjoy my artwork, and let's have some chitchat over a nice cold cafe latte to beat this summer heat!
I am thrilled to announce my upcoming art exhibition, LOVE, running from September 1 (Sun) to October 30 (Thurs) at Tully's Coffee Shinjuku Nichome Shop in Tokyo!

Last February, I had the pleasure of holding an art exhibition in Angeles City. The event was a wonderful success, attracting many visitors who appreciated my work. I was especially honored by the presence of a representative from The Voice Newsweekly, who subsequently featured me in their publication.

I recently stumbled upon a painting I did many years ago. It depicts a woman wearing a traditional Filipiniana dress. I don't recall the inspiration behind it, nor do I know who she is. She simply emerged on the canvas, as if from a dream.
Just stepped out for a coffee and ended up visiting my art exhibition nearby! 🎨☕️ To my surprise, I ran into a few visitors who are Japanese teachers from school. It was so fun chatting with them on their day off. Grateful for their support! 🙏✨
My art exhibition ends this Friday!
Don't miss the final days of my exhibition, "In The Garden," which concludes on Friday, May 24. This weekend is your last chance to experience it before it closes. You can also visit during the weekdays. Catch it at Koyama Garden in Toshimaen, Nerima-ku, Tokyo.
Love Shines In The Garden: Art Exhibition at Koyama Garden
Join me for a captivating journey through "Love Shines In The Garden," an ongoing art exhibition at Koyama Garden, now open until May 24. Experience the beauty and emotion of each piece as love radiates through this curated collection. Here is one piece having a final retouching before I place it as a head piece for the T-shirt.
Thank you, Teresa, for dropping by today and bringing your Japanese friends!
During my early years in Japan, I created this painting as a tribute to my mother. Now, the original artwork is proudly displayed at my ongoing exhibition in Koyama Garden, Nerima, Tokyo, in celebration of Mother's Day. Alongside it, I've penned a short poem:
In Mommy's arms, safe and snug,
I coo and cuddle, feeling snug.
With every babble, giggle, and coo,
Mommy smiles, her love pure and true.
I babble on, she understands,
Her warm embrace, her gentle hands.
In Mommy's arms, I'm her number one,
With her love, my day's begun!
The exhibition is officially open and ready for visitors! Huge thanks to all my wonderful friends who dropped by today to show their support! Don't forget to capture the moment with plenty of selfies and photos, and be sure to tag me so I can see all the fun!
Join me for the opening of my art exhibition, "Love Shines In The Garden," starting tomorrow, May 11th (Saturday), and running through May 24th (Friday).

In a garden of vast treasures, none compare,
For amidst all we seek, just one heart is rare.
Amongst all the jewels and riches we part,
The most precious find is that one red heart.

In the garden, lost, I wandered apart,
But among the blooms, I found a heart,
Lonely no more, love's tender start,
In the garden's embrace, a brand new start.

Doing one watercolor painting for my coming art exhibition, In The Garden, on May 11 to 24, 2024.
I absolutely love admiring the ceramic mural at Kiita Sando Station along the Fukutoshin Line. It's captivating, and I could easily spend hours just lost in its details. Today was extra special as I had the pleasure of dining at my friend's Thai restaurant, SOWAT, in Kita Sando. The birthday dinner treat was such a thoughtful gesture, and it made the day even more memorable!
My next art exhibition, titled "In the Garden," will take place from May 11 to 24 at the Kouyama Garden in Nerima-ku, Tokyo (3 minutes walk from Toshimaen Station). Admission to both the beautiful Japanese garden and my exhibition is free.
