It's official! For the first time in APU history, over 100 countries/ regions are represented on campus this year!!! 開学以来初！100以上の国・地域からの学生が同時に在籍！ As of November 1, 2022, a total of 5,691 international and domestic students from 103 countries/ regions are enrolled this semester. This is the first time that the number of different countries/regions represented on campus at the same time will exceed 100! Furthermore, the number of countries/ regions that have been represented since the school's opening has reached 164, as students from the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of Belarus join the APU family!!! 2022年11月1日付で今学期の在籍学生数が確定しました。現在、日本を含めて103の国・地域から集まった5,691名の学生がAPUで学んでいます。同時に在籍する学生の出身国・地域数が100を超えるのは、開学以来初めてのこと！エスワティニ王国とベラルーシ共和国からの学生が、あらたにAPUコミュニティの一員となり、開学以来の国際学生の受け入れ国・地域数は163となりました！

APU alumnus helps African women feed their communities with energy-efficient inventions. Reintroducing Yusuf Bilesanmi! 卒業生のYusuf Bilesanmiさんが、エネルギー効率の高い商品開発で、アフリカ女性たちの生活を支援。 In 2017, After working at large companies, such as Panasonic and Mitsubishi, Yusuf Bilesanmi (APS ’10) was searching for a way to address sustainability opportunities in the value chain which big corporations miss. That was when he encountered a woman selling rotten fish during a trip to his home in Nigeria. The woman explained that the fish had spoiled because she did not have the money to pay for the energy required to refrigerate them. Yusuf decided there and then to devise an energy-efficient solution to the rotten fish and the woman’s economic woes. Yusuf’s passion for energy efficiency and problem-solving was evident during his time at APU. He spent his years at APU (2006-2010) working part-time for the school’s IT systems solutions as a Information System Assistant (now known as ALRCS), his graduation thesis developed a way to save energy from unused computers through wake-on LAN. He also created a circle called APU-CT for practical innovations which partnered with institutions, such as Microsoft and Beppu City, to promote interest in IT. The innovative spirit fostered during his time at APU, as well as the serendipitous meeting with the fish seller, would lead him to the establishment of EJA-ICE Solar Energy Company in 2018. EJA-ICE sells “solar-powered freezers to customers with a particular interest in women selling fish to help them mitigate fish waste and sustain their profits.” With this solar-powered ice box, the woman, now an asset-holder, is able to sustain her business profit. Yusuf realized that the problem was greater than one fish seller, however. One out of every 3 fish caught goes to waste (and contributes to carbon emissions) and 65% of this waste is due to a lack of pro

This year, the 20th milestone will be held face-to-face for the first time in three years! Tenku Festival is an annual autumn event at APU. The lively Tenkusai returns to campus with powerful stage performances, fantastical lantern displays, and a number of pop-up stores.
