From March 20 to May 30, the ICICLE Cultural Space in Paris hosts an exhibition dedicated to Li Kunwu, the most famous Chinese illustrator. He presents a series of recent works that celebrate life through everyday scenes.

Artist, journalist, press illustrator, caricaturist, he is the author of numerous graphic novels in China and France.

This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of Chinese artistic expression. Each piece tells a unique story, reflecting the heritage of a self taught artist in China.

ICICLE’s Spring / Summer 2024 collection, the opening showcase at Shanghai Fashion Week, draws its inspiration from nature, featuring fluid cuts and lightweight materials to evoke an ever-changing sky. Colors, in celestial hues of blues, oranges, and purples, arouse the sense of clearing, making way for spring and summer.

The collection distils to its quintessence ICICLE’s values – excellence of fabric, functional elegance, rigour and ease, joyful colour choices, an insistence on the detail – conveying a tactile narrative of gentle minimalism.

Inspiration is drawn from the natural world – sky, light flight, movement, ripples – gracefully celebrating the optimism of spring/summer's brightening skies. Thoughtfully chosen fabrics serve specific purposes; a sculptural organza shell reinvigorates classic tailoring, rare Canton gauze imposes an earthy organic preciousness, a silk dress with side-ties dances with the grace of an April kite, and exuberant yarn-dyed checked pieces in silk or cotton seersucker infuse spring with positivity and energy.
