Why cut the Cholesterol for a healthy heart ????
Let's get an insight of the co relation between the cholesterol and the heart health;
The liver makes cholesterol according to the body's demands and 80%of this cholesterol is from glucose while 20% is from fat that is :HDL High density lipoprotein and LDL low density lipoprotein
HDL is the good cholesterol since it transports cholesterol from peripheral tissues and blood vessels back to the liver and this reduces build up of cholesterol in the arteries....hence termed as the good cholesterol whilst LDL the bad cholesterol carries cholesterol and lipids to tissues and so with increased Low Density lipoprotein several health conditions might occurs.
They include
1. Atherecleorosis(hardening of the arteries )
2.Stroke and coronary heart disease
TIP:HAVE INTAKE OF SOLUBLE FIBERS THAT REDUCE THE LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN
1.OATS
2.OAT BRAN
3.Peas and apples

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (HYPERTENSION)
What is high blood pressure?
A condition in which the force of blood against artery walls is too high .
Blood pressure is recorded with 2 numbers. The systolic pressure (higher number) is the force at which your heart pumps blood around your body.
The diastolic pressure (lower number) is the resistance to the blood flow in the blood vessels between heartbeats.
They're both measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg).
As a general guide:
high blood pressure is considered to be from 140/90mmHg (or an average of 135/85mmHg at home) – or 150/90mmHg (or an average of 145/85mmHg at home) if you're over the age of 80
ideal blood pressure is usually considered to be between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg, while the target for over-80s is below 150/90mmHg (or 145/85mmHg at home)
Blood pressure readings from 121/81mmHg to 139/89mmHg could mean you're at risk of developing high blood pressure if you do not take steps to keep your blood pressure under control.
Everyone's blood pressure will be slightly different. What's considered low or high for you may be normal for someone else.
Check your blood pressure reading
Your reading is made up of two numbers.
1st. This is the highest level your blood pressure reaches when your heart beats (systolic).
The 2nd number is the lowest level your blood pressure reaches when your heart relaxes between beats (diastolic).
Risks of high blood pressure
If your blood pressure is too high, it puts extra strain on your blood vessels, heart and other organs, such as the brain, kidneys and eyes.
Persistent high blood pressure can increase your risk of a number of serious and potentially life-threatening health conditions, such as:
heart disease
heart attacks
strokes
heart failure
peripheral arterial disease
aortic aneurysms
kidney disease
vascular dementia
If you have high blood pressure, reducing it even a small amount can help lower your risk of these health conditions.
Check your blood pressure
The only way of knowing whether you have high blood pressure is to have a blood pressure test.
All adults over 40 are advised to have their blood pressure checked at least every 5 years.
Getting this done is easy and could save your life.
Things that can increase your risk of getting high blood pressure
It's not always clear what causes high blood pressure, but there are things that can increase your risk.
You might be more at risk if you:
are overweight
eat too much salt and do not eat enough fruit and vegetables
do not do enough exercise
drink too much alcohol or coffee (or other caffeine-based drinks)
smoke
have a lot of stress
are over 65
have a relative with high blood pressure
Making healthy lifestyle changes can sometimes help reduce your chances of getting high blood pressure and help lower your blood pressure if it's already high.
High blood pressure is also sometimes caused by an underlying health condition or taking a certain medicine.
Lifestyle changes to reduce blood pressure
These lifestyle changes can help prevent and lower high blood pressure:
reduce the amount of salt you eat and have a generally healthy diet
cut back on alcohol
lose weight if you're overweight
exercise regularly
cut down on caffeine
stop smoking
Some people with high blood pressure may also need to take 1 or more medicines to stop their blood pressure getting too high.
Prevention of high blood pressure
Cut down on caffeine
Drinking more than 4 cups of coffee a day may increase your blood pressure.
If you're a big fan of coffee, tea or other caffeine-rich drinks, such as cola and some energy drinks, consider cutting down.
It's fine to drink tea and coffee as part of a balanced diet, but it's important that these drinks are not your main or only source of fluid.
Stop smoking
Smoking, like high blood pressure, will cause your arteries to narrow. This can increase your blood pressure. If your arteries get blocked it can cause a heart attack or stroke.
If you smoke and have high blood pressure, your arteries will narrow much more quickly, and your risk of heart or lung disease in the future is dramatically increased
Healthy diet
Cut down on the amount of salt in your food and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.
Salt raises your blood pressure. The more salt you eat, the higher your blood pressure. Aim to eat less than 6g of salt a day, which is about a teaspoonful.
Find out how to cut down on salt
Eating a low-fat diet that includes lots of fibre, such as wholegrain rice, bread and pasta, and plenty of fruit and vegetables also helps lower blood pressure.
Aim to eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day.

H-PYLORI VS ULCERS AND OTHER RELATED PROBLEMS OF THE GUT
What's H-PYLORI -H pylori has been a bacteria that has lived in the stomach for more than 55,00years .The bacteria is always enclosed in a capsule and burrowed deep in the intestinal wall .As we all know the pH of the stomach ranges from 1-3 ,,this acidic medium doesn't provide a friendly environment for this bacteria to thrive in the stomach however due to bad eating habits and intake of anti acids or antiinflammatory drugs ,,it may lead to the pH to raise maybe higher than 5,this in turns creates an alkaline environment that is conducive for this H-PYLORI bacteria to survive in such environment.Once the bacteria gets it's way into the stomach,,it burrows the lining of the stomach causing an inflammation called gastritis when this condition is not dealt with there's further development of wounds called ulcers.
ULCERS -These are open sores that develop in the stomach . Ulcers most oftenly occur when the stomach acid damages the digestive tract of which H-PYLORI is a leading factor to this .
GASTRITIS -This is the inflammation of the stomach lining characterized by stomach pain, indigestion , vomiting, bloating and nausea.
ACID REFLUX -This condition is characterized by heartburn felt around the lower chest area ,it occurs when the acid flows back into the food pipe .
H-PYLORI
This bacteria is pathogenic ONLY when the acidity of the stomach is interfered with.
The stomach has its pH low for several significances:
1.digestion of protein
2.kill harmful bacteria
3.Closes the oesophageal valve to prevent acid reflux
Hence ,when the pH is raised this bacteria gets it's way into the lining and burrows into the lining of the stomach . HOWEVER that it is advisable that this acidic medium should not be interfered by attempts to neutralize it ,Weak acid poses several threats to the body.
Effects of weak acid
1.Indigestion of protein
2.Bloating from large intestine towards duodenum
3.Acid reflux because oesophageal valve is incompetent (this valve is always kept closed by strong acid )
4.Gastritis and gastric ulcer due to colonization of stomach walls by H-pylori (the acid keeps away bacteria from burrowing in the walls .
Signs and symptoms of H-pylori infection
1.Gas and bloating
2.Abdominal pain
3.Acid reflux
4.Dark stools
5.Anaemia
REMEMBER:
The best solution for such a condition is not to attempt to neutralize the acidity in the stomach but to try to make it low so as to inhibit the survival of this bacteria since we have learnt that it's always threatened by acidic medium in the stomach.
Healthy Tips to deal with the issue
1 .FAST DAILY-Skip meals and ensure you don't take full meals by eating more than 2-3meals
-This is because fasting allows stomach walls to regenerate
-Fasting lowers the concentration of acid making acid more stronger
-Fasting also allows gall bladder to heal and release bile salts
Mechanism of fasting with acidity
-Eating all the times leads to release of some enzymes of the digestive system and hence inhibits the secretory function of parietal cells (cells located in the stomach that aid in production of HCl)
Once the parietal cells becomes resistant and HCL is not produced it leads to hypochlorhydria (weak acid )or achlorhydria (no acid /HCL ) .
However people do claim that they get pain when they stay without food ,,this is due to the PAVLOC CLASSICAL CONDITIONING -whereby the individual has reconditioned him /herself that you must at specific intervals due to thoughts and tastes and immediately when this time comes your stomach releases gastric acid that pours in the wound and it triggers pain receptor in the stomach causing abdominal pains .... THEREFORE,TRAIN MINDSET, that the stomach should only release gastric acid during chewing not on thought of food always.
2.ELIMINATE INFLAMMATORY FOODS
Such foods include: sugars, juices, sodas , wheat and grains
3.MORE CHLOROPHYLL (chlorophyll is the green colouring matter in plants )eg.. spinach, broccoli, cabbage and also cabbage juice are important to combat with the effect .
4.Use of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR that aids in support of raising of stomach acid strength
5.Consumption of sour milk from cows and not shelves
6.USE OF PRO-BIOTICS .
Pro biotics are gut micro organisms that are necessary to improve the good bacteria in the body. Probiotics that contain Lactobacillus and Biffidobacterium
Help eradicate H-PYLORI
For those that are healthy,,try as much as possible to maintain the healthy status there is no treatment for H-pylori infection neither ulcers,,even the intake of antibiotics or proton pump inhibitors commonly called Omeprazole (omes ) they don't heal ulcers they only try to reduce the production of HCL so as to reduce the corrosion of the acid,in the sores
Let's all avoid intake of foods like seed oils ,wheat ,sugar , processed carbs and pasteurized dairy that increase the chances of getting the H- pylori
High level of hygiene should also be maintained since the infection can be caused by poor hygienic routines
Remember:the stronger the acid the healthier the stomach
ENERGY DRINKS
Most people have a tendancy to drink fizzy drinks
Some few individuals like students ,long distance drivers and also some software developers have a tendancy to consume these drinks .
But what exactly are these fizzy drinks and what are their dangers?
These drinks are caffeinated, meaning they have a copious amount of caffeine. They also have sugar in insane amounts. Apart from caffeine and sugar, these drinks have chemical preservatives like sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate.
They also have tonnes of colourants and sweeteners like sucralose.
There is also another inorganic compound in energy drinks called taurine.
But what are the effects? Does it improve alertness and focus?
The answer is NO.
1. LOSS OF SLEEP
Energy drinks dysregulate a sleep hormone known as MELATONIN. This hormone or neurotransmitter is like a switch. When it is time to sleep, it switches off hence pushing you into sleep. Look at your children, when they delay eating supper, they start dosing because melatonin waits for no one. It is part of the circadian rhythm. Energy drinks mess with melatonin's ability to prepare you for sleep.
2. DOPAMINE RESISTANCE
Energy drinks give you the 'happy feeling' moment. When you drink them, you mistake this feeling with being energetic. That's a dopamine thrill. This thrill will continue asking for more thrills and that means more energy drinks and that means ADDICTION.
Why addiction? Because every time you secrete dopamine unnecessarily, you make the receptors of dopamine tired of receiving the thrills and therefore you will be forced to drink more to achieve the thrills you achieved yesterday.
Now, once the dopamine is messed up, you will not enjoy real happiness, this leads to further downregulation of dopamine receptors. It has severe consequences especially on the men .
3. FATTY LIVER
Energy drinks are filled with corn syrup. This syrup is purely FRUCTOSE and you all know where fructose goes to. - THE LIVER. The more the liver receives corn syrup, the more it stores fats and swells with fats. There is no difference between you who drinks energy drinks and one who drinks alcohol.
5. INSULIN RESISTANCE
Well, a fatty liver leads to insulin resistance. This predisposes you to Diabetes, endothelial injury ( hypertension) and heart ailments. I am sure you get serious palpitations after drinking these fizzy drinks.
4.DEPRESSION.
Caffeine and Taurine are nervous system suppressants. They make you drowsy and dull thereafter and this will make you crave for more to maintain the 'focus'. With time, you will have mood changes due to suppression of neurochemicals in your brain leading to mental depression, anger issues etc.
5. GUT INFLAMMATION
The sweeteners and the chemical preservatives in energy drinks destroy your gut bacteria. This leads to digestion failure, gastritis, ulcers and malabsorption. Also, because they cause gut inflammation, they hinder the secretion of SEROTONIN which is the happy hormone, leading to mood changes and depression. SEROTONIN is also important because the sleep hormone MELATONIN is metabolized from serotonin. So, if serotonin is not adequately secreted, you will have sleep problems.
6. Kidney failure.
Energy drinks raise the blood pressure and hence the kidney suffers high blood pressure afterwards decreasing the filtering capacity
Most Energy drinks have a lot of added sugar and this leads to blood sugar imbalances and eventually damage of kidney health .
Stay away from Energy drinks.
the energy drinks lower the testosterone by messing your liver, your dopamine, your gut and your sleep which are important ingredients in testosterone production. Outcome?
- aromatization of testosterone to oestrogen.
If you want to change, just change, for a better future ahead.
Do you always have green vegetables in your meals?
If not, see the advantages of having them..
Leafy green vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. They’re packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber but low in calories.
Eating a diet rich in leafy greens can offer numerous health benefits including reduced risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and mental decline.
IE :
* Kale
Kale is considered one of the most nutrient-dense vegetables on the planet due to its many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
For example, one cup (67 grams) of raw kale packs 684% of the Daily Value (DV) for vitamin K, 206% of the DV for vitamin A and 134% of the DV for vitamin C .
It also contains antioxidants such as lutein and beta-carotene, which reduce the risk of diseases caused by oxidative stress..
*Spinach
Spinach is a popular leafy green vegetable and is easily incorporated into a variety of dishes, including soups, sauces, smoothies and salads.
Its nutrient profile is impressive with one cup (30 grams) of raw spinach providing 181% of the DV for vitamin K, 56% of the DV for vitamin A and 13% of the DV for manganese
It’s also packed with folate, which plays a key role in red blood cell production and the prevention of neural tube defects in pregnancy
Along with taking a prenatal vitamin, eating spinach is a great way to increase your folate intake during pregnancy.
*Cabbage
Cabbage is formed of clusters of thick leaves that come in green, white and purple colors.
It belongs to the Brassica family, along with Brussels sprouts, kale and broccoli.
Vegetables in this plant family contain glucosinolates, which give them a bitter flavor.
foods that contain these plant compounds may have cancer-protective properties, especially against lung and esophageal cancer.
Another benefit of cabbage is that it can be fermented and turned into sauerkraut, which provides numerous health benefits, such as improving your digestion and supporting your immune system. It may even aid weight loss .
*. Turnip Greens
Turnip greens are the leaves of the turnip plant, which is a root vegetable similar to beetroot.
These greens pack more nutrients than the turnip itself, including calcium, manganese, folate and the vitamins A, C and K
They have a strong and spicy flavor and are often enjoyed cooked rather than raw.
Turnip greens are considered a cruciferous vegetable, which have been shown to decrease your risk of health conditions, such as heart disease, cancer and inflammation
Turnip greens also contain several antioxidants including gluconasturtiin, glucotropaeolin, quercetin, myricetin and beta-carotene — which all play a role in reducing stress in your body.
Turnip greens can be used as a replacement for kale or spinach in most recipes.
Let's talk of Diabetes and Hypertension.
We live in the world of dangerous diseases in which we can control if away. Take a moment and through these and it might help...
If you have diabetes, you already know about the importance of controlling your blood sugar levels. But you may not be aware of another problem that can go hand-in-hand with diabetes — high blood pressure or hypertension.
There is a strong connection between diabetes and hypertension. Two out of every three people with type 2 diabetes also have high blood pressure or take prescription medications to lower their blood pressure. Both are diseases of lifestyle and aging and share common risk factors. The good news is that diabetes and hypertension can be modified through behavior, including eating a healthful diet, exercise, weight control and, if your doctor prescribes it, medication.
People with diabetes either do not have enough insulin to process glucose or their insulin does not work effectively. As a result, glucose accumulates in the bloodstream, which can cause widespread damage to the blood vessels and kidneys.
Diabetes is the number one cause of kidney failure and one third of diabetics develop kidney disease.
It damages by scarring the kidneys, which in turn leads to salt and water retention, which in turn raises blood pressure. Over time, diabetes damages the small blood vessels, causing the walls of the blood vessels to stiffen and function improperly. These changes contribute to high blood pressure.
People with both diabetes and hypertension have approximately twice the risk of heart attack and stroke as nondiabetic people with hypertension. Hypertensive diabetic patients are also at increased risk for complications including retinopathy (damage to the blood vessels in the tissue at the back of the eye)
Most people with diabetes should have a blood pressure of no more than 130/80. To achieve this, many diabetics need to take hypertension medications. “Some hypertension are more useful in the treatment of diabetes, especially diabetes resulting from kidney disease. inhibitors, angiotensin II blockers, ACE 2 inhibitors. A new class of drugs called SGLT2 inhibitors are beneficial to diabetics in ways other than sugar control, such as slowing kidney and heart damage. They also help control blood pressure and weight gain.
Lifestyle modifications such as eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise can reduce complications from diabetes as well as high blood pressure.
“Living with diabetes requires monitoring blood sugar levels daily, diligently taking medications, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and watching what you eat every day, to avoid hypertension, diabetics need to restrict their salt intake as well. It is important to eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, fish, healthy fats and whole grains
Another key to keeping both diabetes and hypertension under control is self-monitoring both conditions at home and regularly seeing your healthcare provider. If you have diabetics self-monitor your blood sugar but don't ignore the importance of self-monitoring blood pressure. In the long term, controlling blood pressure is equally or even more important for reducing the risk of stroke, heart attacks and kidney failure.

· Egg whites are good, however egg yolk has high fat and may trigger acid reflux symptoms.
· Healthy fats such as avocadoes, sunflower oil, and olive oil are good. Reduce intake of saturated fats.
· Non-citrusus fruits such as melons, apples, pears bananas among others.
· Whole grains of bread and whole-grain rice
· Oatmeal is a good meal for breakfast and is an excellent source of fiber with a lower risk of acid reflux.
· Ginger is a natural treatment for heartburn and other gastrointestinal problems.
· Lean meats such as chicken, turkey and kinds of seafood. Try them grilled baked or broiled.
Other practices that can help in the controlling acidity include:
v Avoid alcohol and smoking
v Don’t eat for 2 hours before going to bed
v Avoid tight clothing
v Eat 4 or 5 small meals throughout the day instead of 2 or 3 large meals
v Limit your intake of caffeine and carbonated beverages
v Avoid foods that may trigger any of the symptoms
v Maintain a healthy weight
v Raise the head of your bed to about 4 inches to reduce reflux symptoms while sleeping
v Take medication prescribed by a doctor
v Use gum with no mint
v Monitor your diet for about a week or two noting what may be a trigger for you keeping a timetable.

Why not use them ?????
1. Antacids.
2. Mouthwash.
They temporarily hide the symptoms but they don't fix the problem.
The stomach acid should never be neutralized. Nature designed the stomach acid to be concentrated at 1 -3 on the PH scale. That's so strong to melt a razor blade and that is how it should be
A weak stomach acid leads to:
- Indigestion especially on proteins.
- Bloating due to migration of bacteria from the large intestines towards the duodenum. (SIBO)
- Acid reflux because the oesophageal valve is incompetent. This valve is kept closed by a strong acid (Powerful concentration of hydrogen ions.)
- Gastritis and gastric ulcers due to the colonization of the stomach walls by H.pylori. The strong acid keeps the bacteria away from burrowing in these walls.
Saliva on the other hand is a powerful mouthwash. It contains strong antibacterial properties that destroy harmful bacteria.
90% of saliva is water therefore it hydrates and keeps the mouth clean and fresh.
You, therefore, don't need antacids, and neither do you need mouthwash.

GASTRIC ULCERS
In the past long time in those Early childhood days , it was uncommon to learn that a relative, a friend, a neighbour is suffering from gastric ulcers or gastritis.
It was very rare
"The chronic erosion of the stomach lining is called gastritis and it leads to chronic wounds in the stomach known as ulcers..."
"How can a wound just sit in a stomach? It must be so fatal?? most patients with chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes have ulcers even though the treatment of ulcers is not prioritized.
But what is my point?
My point is that ulcers and gastritis are modern conditions that emanated from the foods we eat nowadays.
- Seed oils
- Wheat
- Sugar
- Processed carbs
- Pasteurized dairy
These foods cause immense inflammation in the stomach leading to gastritis and ulcers.
Forget about H.pylori.
H.pylori is a friendly bacteria that has lived with man for more than 50,000 years. It surely cannot be the cause of rising incidences of stomach conditions.
H.pylori becomes an enemy once the stomach environment is messed up by modern foods.
You don't have to suffer.
Don't swallow those kits.
Just fix your diet.
Sickness is how your body communicates to you.
Listen to it.
