We had a little competition about naming the new ‘deck’ and the winning name was voted MLOZI which just happened to be the name Roger chose - since the winner of the name was going to get a prize of ‘one night at the Driftwood with breakfast’ - it seemed a bit silly for Roger to get this prize obviously, so we put the names of the six that came closest in a hat and asked Roger to draw one so that one person would benefit from the prize....the name drawn was Tanja Meyer ( Punzika ) CONGRATULATIONS !Tanja, we welcome you for your nights stay with breakfast on the MLOZI deck

Our top deck bar above the Bruce & Bob bar has been voted on by our Driftwood Dream Team of 18 people!
Thank you to everyone’s suggestions but there could only be one winner! With a close 2nd of Pumzika & Sansuri (tied) the winner name is MLOZI (meaning Almond - as there is an Almond tree shading the area - it is appropriate)

What an amazing week at the Driftwood! Fully booked for the first time since ‘horrid covid’ struck - families with kids doing their zoom classes then swimming in the sea in the fresh air to collapse tired and happy in bed! Parents relaxed, snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming and catching up with many folk from up-county who have come for fresh sea air and friendly faces!

We are all ready for the upcoming fishing competitions. The auctions will take place on Thursday and Friday, 15th and 16th October, starting at 7pm. Do come and join in the fun, bid for a boat, take a punt on the raffle or just enjoy the reasonably priced drinks and excellent food. Prize giving will be at 6.30pm on Sunday 18th followed by dinner. The Driftwood have kindly offered a very reasonable rate for for overnight stays over the long weekend, please contact them direct on 0721724489.
