Breast Cancer awareness Month
Take a good look at the skin surrounding the ni**le; look at the ni**le also. It is called dimpling of the skin, like the skin on an orange or lemon. Sometimes, this is what breast cancer looks like. This is known as Peau d'orange, (ORANGE PEEL) and can happen when cancer cells block the lymph drainage of the breast, resulting in fluid accumulation in the breast tissue leading to dimpling. Cancer is not the only cause of this, but if you see this, SEE A DOCTOR ASAP!
We don't pray for breast cancer but early detection saves life.

Happy world mental health day.
Mental health is a universal human right for all. Help is available don't die alone, let's be our brothers keeper.
Shout out to all those who have had tough times but overcome, them that spoke out and received help and to those also who struggled by themselves and overcame. We all have our ups and downs but please don't die alone. Seek help, it's your right and responsibility too.

October 2023: Breast cancer awareness Month
This year focuses on being active. Research has shown that being physically active can reduce the risk of getting breast cancer by as much as 20%. It also helps reduce severity of symptoms and improve quality of life for those who have breast cancer already.
How much do you excercise???🤔
Also early detection of the disease has a better chance of treatment and outcome. Do self examination and once in a while screening at the health facility. This will really help detect the disease Early and interventions made, don't wait until it's too late.
Together we fight breast cancer

Let's continue with class
Stunting refers to a child who is too short for their age. Stunting occurs when a child does not have adequate nutrition to grow and develop, which is mainly a poor diet in terms of quantity and quality and often exacerbated by disease and poor health.
It can occur throughout childhood but it is mostly determined by the child's first 1000 days. These days cut across the period before conception which means mum's preconception nutrition status is very key through to the child's second birthday.
After the child's second birthday research has shown that there is nothing much that can be done to regain or correct the baby's height and therefore they end up being stunted and hence short. Stunting not only affects the child's height but has greater effects as we will see later. So stay tuned
Are you concerned about your child's height during clinics. Let's talk Kwa comment section

It's a funny fact but most of the short people aren't really short, it's malnutrition 🤦 no offense though😜😂😂. Stunting which is as a result of inadequate nutrition can be passed from one generation to another, what does this tell us about the future generations??? It's time we pick up our mics and address this issue,. Talk of maternal nutrition before, during and after pregnancy. Is paternal nutrition a factor too?? Talk of exclusive breastfeeding the first 6 months, introduction of complementary feeding, feeding of toddlers and children. It's broad, it's interesting, stay tuned as we dig deep on the same.

Today we talk about supporting mums who are breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding is a sweet thing but it can be tiresome if it's a one woman show😛. By saying this I don't mean everyone in the family or work place to breastfeed the child😅😅😅
On the contrary there are so many ways we can use to show our support.
In a family setting, the spouse can step in to help prepare expressed breast milk and help feed the baby. Other times they can help hold the baby while the mum rests.
Preparing them food and giving them moral support. This is to the spouse and other relatives too.
At work employers need to create rooms where mums will have comfortable places to breastfeed their babies. Employers and work supervisors needs to go easy on lactating women too🤗
To the legislators, they need to lobby for reasonable maternity leave, it's not easy but together we can.
To the general public, let's be kind. It's our duty to support all lactating mums.
Together we can support breastfeeding and eradicate malnutrition and below 5years mortality.

Day two: world breastfeeding week.
Today we learn about the benefits of breastfeeding both to the child and the mother. Breastfeeding has so many benefits as seen below and therefore we recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and continued breastfeeding with other feeds up to at least 2 years.
Let's keep learning, let's keep supporting mums who are breastfeeding.

Good morning. Today we learn about vitamin C. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamins that is found in foods such as citrus fruits, papayas, Guava, bell pepper (hoho) and many others
It helps support the immune system, prevent and treat scurvy , as an antioxidant and it is sold in serum that helps treat dark spots and wrinkles on the face
Unlike other animals , humans are not able to synthesise vitamin C and therefore they have to acquire it from the dietary sources, failure to which it leads to deficiency.
Now you know, follow us for more exciting facts💕💕
