1. Upon acceptance, you will train as you work under pay.

MAKING SENSE OUT OF 7 STANZAS OF NONSENSE

Poem: Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

For those of you who may have had the slightest chance to at least crack open the novel, "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland", by the English poet Lewis Carroll might have succumbed to the obsessive suspense to seek out the sequel to Alice's Adventures In Wonderland by the same author and therefore having purposed to enjoy a single book 📖 ended up reading one more book📚, "Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found there" for it is herein that this poem seats undisturbed for long spell of years. Therefore I am inclined to believe that this poem is not stranger to you but rather an acquaintance I wish to reintroduce you to. For those who have not read the book consider the lines I am going to relate a new friend indeed😊

Jabberwocky is a nonsensical ballad. Being nonsensical simply implies that it is meaningless or , in the street language, it's pretty dumb😄. It's words are just made up and don't make any useless sense👹 because they are just invented out of the author's imagination, consequently, the readers have to depend on the writer to decode the meaning. My lecturer used to tell me that meaning is in the reader and not the text. To some extent that is true but he forgot to tell us or was oblivious to the fact that some meanings reside with the author as is the case of nonsensical poems, for example. That's a debate for another day should you take issue with it. I am always here and ready😄.

Don't forget mate! Jabberwocky is also a ballad and for three reasons:

1. It has a musical rhythm
2. It tells a story - (It takes a lot to convince me that hip hop is not a form of ballad☺️)

3. It's written in quatrains ( four - line stanzas )

Though Jabberwocky may be a nonsensical ballad, I believe it is really meaningful like other nonsensical poems. It tells a fantastical story that is enjoyable. It could also be used to illustrate the importance of word choice and defining words using context clues, word stems and prefixes.

Well, obviously art has evolved significantly in Kenya but those were the days when Swahili hip hop was just being created...I can compare it to the days of Rakim and 2pac. These guys had little precedence yet they created something that other artists found inspiration from

Netizens went crazy about the rumour report that Rkelly silently released a 13 - song album while locked up in prison however upon further research, HOT254 Media found that the song was released....( wait for it😀 )...........4 years ago. That's right folks, it was released in 2018 and that was definitely not today.

Rkelly's lawyer claimed that the release was unauthorized and that his intellectual property was stolen in the day of his arrest. As to who profits from the release of the album is not know. It would also be northworthy to mention that Spotify took the song down!!!

PAY HOMAGE TO MOMBASA OLD SCHOOL HIP-HOP ARTISTES

Hip-hop game is, to rap, what asteroid was to dinosaur s🦖🦕. When it hits again, it forces artistes to evolve their style or otherwise they don't get to last. It's either you change your flow and flow with the change or get flawed by change and it's a wrap for you!

Some artistes have survived through extreme adversities of change by fusing hip-hop with trending vibes; including trap. Nonetheless there are those of us and a good many fans, like some old school artistes, who have a little different perception of what hip hop is today. With TikTok and other social media platforms, the younger artistes are coming up with nursery rhymish hip-hop just to trend or look for likes and follows. They create music that can be made into dance and that's the focus, popularity. Well before hip-hop purpose was just to tell a story in hard-hitting lyrical assalt, self elevation and of course a little beefing😄. Those guys found their style from within unlike today's artistes where everybody bites off everybody else, then don't wanna show respek or give credit to those who came before.

Young artistes should just pay homage to old school OGs. Appreciate your hip-hop history and honour the greats. I don't care who you are, all new MOMBASA artistes were inspired by those who came before them. Matter of fact, y'all young artistes should be doing music with the old school OGs. Just pay homage to the founders of the game!

HOMAGE TO MOMBASA HIP HOP LEGEND SOKORO

I don't think that we appreciate enough the fact that MOMBASA has been a haven of pioneering raw music talent in terms of natural vocals and skillful bars. MOMBASA is the only county whose home grown artists did not talk a normal speech with a beat and called that s**t gengetone😄. They did not cover inabilities with crazy terms and call it new style of music. They instead gave real original stuff right from the late 90s and early 2000s and everybody is just quiet as if MOMBASA has not been a factory of pioneering legends. And I would like to notably mention a humble place called Likoni where great artists like Manabii and Daddy Sele hail from. Although today I really wanna talk about this ni**ah SOKORO.

For those growing up with the hip-hop of early 2000s, East Cost, MOMBASA, SOKORO was the Eminem of our time. We are lucky to have been blessed with his bars, especially, those from his song, "Revolution", for example, have been platinum entertaining and educative. Sokoro's bars meant a lot if you paid attention. It wasn't just another gibberish that rhymes. It was pure hip-hop sorcery that gave folks goosebumps.

I still listen to his music today and most of it is still very relevant. It feels close to me because I am from that era. He was talking about some of the things that are actually happening now. This dude was clearly ahead of his time yet I feel that the impact SOKORO had in the hip-hop game is underrated. Nobody pays this ni**ah proper homage, especially those that claim to be in the hip-hop culture. SOKORO meant more to the music culture than people cared to give credit for.

ASSIMILATION OF /t/ and /p/ IN BRITISH PRONOUNCE
Assimilation of sound means changing a phoneme/sound to become similar/identical to other nearby/neighboring sounds
For example, In rapid speech, native speakers of English tend to pronounce " ten bucks" as "tembucks".
The sound /n/ has been assimilated/changed to /m/ because the sound that is both a nasal like /n/ and a bilabial like /b/ is /m/. Therefore in anticipation of the sound that is ahead - that is /b/- /n/ is therefore assimilated to /m/ to make it easier to pronounce /b/.
Ok lets leave out all this linguistic nerd stuff out and just try to simply assimilate sounds /t/ and /p/ in peace😃
In British pronounce, /t/ changes to /p/ before /m/, /b/, /p/
Try pronouncing these rapidly as you listen to yourself
