The 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 2024, themed; 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒖𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆 was absolute success.

HealthRight Kenya joined hands with other partners led by the Nairobi City County Government in raising awareness about su***de prevention and sharing messages of hope with all affected. The event brought together different players within the health space to champion more knowledge and understanding in a bid to help society.

A smooth working relationship between Corporate and Non Governmental Organizations is key for success in disaster management, health, violence, management and all issues affecting the social strata of the society.

The HealthRight Kenya team led by the Country Director Peter Ofware and Business Development Lead Grace Zandia met different players across both Corporate and NGO world on the sidelines of the EAHS AFRICA, Summit – NAIROBI 2024. This year's conference ran under the theme; “From Risk to Resilience: The Role of Public-Private Partnerships in Disaster Management”.

In collaboration with other partners, we are participating in the EAHS AFRICA, Summit – NAIROBI 2024 under the theme; “From Risk to Resilience: The Role of Public-Private Partnerships in Disaster Management”.

The two day East Africa’s Longest Established & Premier Humanitarian Conference/ Expo for Aid, Development and Procurement brings together leading UN Agencies/NGO’S and presents a unique opportunity to engage with senior representatives from the UN and Government Agencies, Development Banks, National & International NGOs, Civil Societies, Research Institutes, Media & all Key Stakeholder, to gain a better understanding of the complex challenges confronting the region, and the partnership and procurement opportunities available.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. This is a time to remember the many lives we have lost to su***de, acknowledge many others who have experienced suicidal thoughts while giving solace to millions who have been impacted by su***de. Let us unite in raising awareness about su***de prevention and share messages of hope. We are joining other partners in CHANGING THE NARRATIVE ON SU***DE.

We are proud to partner with County Government of West Pokot for a 2-Day Exhibition cm High-Level Meeting on Primary Health Care (PHC) under the Theme “Aligning PHC to Partner Programming”.

This meeting seeks to take stock of the County’s achievement in PHC through the Department of Health and Sanitation and it's implementing partners (Ips) which helps align the resources with the high-impact county interventions in PHC. The meeting’s objectives include;

1) To showcase county progress in Primary Health Care (PHC)
2) To appreciate and formally acknowledge existing partnerships
3) To align programming and the PCN rollout in the county
4) To communicate and reaffirm county sector commitments
5) To define critical gaps and identify opportunities to address them.

Primary Health Care (PHC) is essential health care made universally accessible to individuals and acceptable to them, through their full participation and at a cost their can afford. This is key to the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Universal Health Coverage (UHC) refers to Affordable, Accessible, Acceptable, Available and high-quality health for all. 𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐀 𝐀𝐟𝐲𝐚 𝐲𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭

INUA Afya ya Mama (uplifting Mothers' Health) Project, funded by Comic Relief, intends to strengthen perinatal mental health service delivery at the primary health care and community.

The project's priority is community engagement, empowerment, and capacity enhancement within the healthcare centre to deliver quality mental healthcare services.

𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐇𝐈𝐕 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐍𝐳𝐨𝐢𝐚

HealthRight Kenya has supported over 21,000 households through its HIV awareness activities across the country, which is one of our four program areas. Through the SACCO Project, Health & Wellness Officers have been trained and embedded into the Boba Boda SACCO leadership structures within Trans Nzoia County.

The Project has also given more than 3,000 Boba Boda riders access to HIV Testing Services and awareness to help them protect themselves and their families. This leaves them more productive and empowered to build society. In the spirit of SUCCESS, our Stakeholders came together during the Project Close-Out meeting in Kitale for reflection sessions and certificate issuance.

Stakeholders included the County Government Reps, County RMNCH Technical Advisors, County Health Management Teams (SCHMTs), County Aids & STI Coordinators (CASCO), Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs), Clinical Mental Health Counsellors (CMHC), Community Health Promoters (CHPs), HIV Testing Services (HTS), County Officers (COs) and Psychologists.

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐈𝐕 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬

HIV is one of our four key Program areas. We have supported HIV awareness in Kenya, for almost two decades mainly in Kilifi, Trans Nzoia and West Pokot Counties. Partnering with Gilead, SACCO Project in Trans Nzoia County provided Integrated and Mental Health solutions for men in the transportation sector locally known as BodaBoda. Over 3000 boda boda riders benefited from HIV Testing Services.

The HealthRight Kenya team gathered to reflect on great moments and share goodwill messages as we bid farewell to some wonderful colleagues led by the Associate Director of Finance & Administration Peninah Ringera. We celebrate them for dedicating their skill and expertise towards the success of HealthRight Kenya & HealthRight International.
