Join Us for an Exciting Open Water 2km Fun Swim Event!

Dear Swimmers and Water Enthusiasts,

Get ready to dive into an unforgettable experience with the Early Birds Banda and Bandari Swimming Club as we bring you an exhilarating open water 2km fun swim event! Join us on Saturday, 30th December 2023, at the Early Birds Banda, Nyali Beach, for a morning of aquatic adventure and community spirit.

Location: Early Birds Banda, Nyali Beach
Reporting Time: 6:30 am
Event Start: 7:00 am

This event is not a competition, but rather a fun swim to the reef and back, spanning approximately 1km each way. Upon reaching the reef, swimmers will be treated to refreshing drinks and nourishing food before heading back to the shore. Entry to this incredible event is completely free of charge!

The primary aim of organizing this event is to promote open water swimming while also fostering awareness about the importance of keeping our beaches clean and showing respect for marine life. By participating, you will not only enjoy a fantastic swim, but you will also be contributing to these important causes.

So, gather your friends and family, and come be a part of this wonderful event! Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just looking for a fun and unique experience, this event is for you. We welcome swimmers of all levels to join us for this day of fun and camaraderie.

Today , August 9th, 2023, we had the esteemed privilege of receiving visits from the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya, and Her Excellency Josephine Gauld, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya, along with their teams at Early Birds Banda. During this occasion, we engaged in discussions regarding our shared endeavors, including beach cleaning, turtle conservation, and our efforts to guide youth away from idleness and negative influences. Hosting and extending our warm welcome to them was a true honor, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to host them once again in the future.

Early Bird’s Banda - Nyali Beach

We host a social group of several individuals of whom we refer to as "Early Birds”. Every morning we come together for a morning run, swim, jog, walk and cardio. Then talk, joke and laugh while exchanging ideas over traditional coffee and dates at Early Birds Banda, Nyali Beach.

The Banda is ready to host the community in order to engage our children and adults in different sporting activities thus providing fitness, health and fun. We are also trying to keep our youth busy through sports in aim of eradicating drug abuse in our community.

Our main aim is to bring our community together, enhance brotherhood among ourselves, familiarize and get in touch with one another and also have fun on our page just the way we do at the beach.

To support our activities, The Early Birds Banda provides trainers in cardio, soccer, swimming, lifesaving and training , boxing and karate. We also provide a safe storage, changing rooms, floating tubes, boat riding, surfboards and beach seats/ chairs.
