You may find these little bigs under a brick or a damp object. You may have felt disgusted and wondered why they exist in nature.
Well, let me tell you, the oniscidae, better known as cochineal, is a subgroup of isopod crustaceans whose function is to remove harmful heavy metals from the earth such as mercury, cadmium and lead. They contribute to the cleansing of soil and groundwater to reaffirm the wisdom of nature. Do not damage them or spray pesticides!

THE GIFT OF KINDNESS
“The word kindness has a gentle sound that seems to echo the presence of compassionate goodness.
When someone is kind to you, you feel understood and seen.
There is no judgment or harsh perception directed toward you.
Kindness has gracious eyes; it is not small-minded or competitive; it wants nothing back for itself.
Kindness strikes a resonance with the depths of your own heart; it also suggests that your vulnerability, though somehow exposed, is not taken advantage of; rather, it has become an occasion for dignity and empathy.
Kindness casts a different light, an evening light that has the depth of color and patience to illuminate what is complex and rich in difference.”
~ John O Donohue - Kindness: The First Gift

With him she had a great opportunity to study chimp development—and to have physical contact, which is no longer deemed appropriate with chimps in the wild.

OUR STORY
PURPOSE: Green Africa Development Institute (GADI) is a capacity-building organization that provides education, research and consultancy services aimed at developing transformative-servant leadership to enable green growth in Africa and beyond.
Green Africa Development Institute (GADI) is a centre of excellence for knowledge management comprising a group of schools and colleges established to develop transformative-servant leadership and to foster global citizenship and peace by promoting agroecology and green businesses in order to enhance the sustainability of the human civilization. The ambition of the organization is to transform every human being on the planet Earth into a biodiversity conservation champion.
The organization was established out of the realization that for the last 200 years humanity has been thriving on an unsustainable economic model that is based on the depletion of Earth's finite natural resources, pollution and wasteful and unhealthy lifestyles. That model has not only caused environmental destruction and biodiversity loss but also other problems such as income inequality and insecurity. The model is obsolete and should be changed by developing another model for Africa and beyond. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” - Buckminster Fuller
No country has ever developed without serious environmental destruction and biodiversity loss. Green Africa Development Institute (GADI) strives to provide solutions for green growth. GADI promotes green growth models that can be replicated and scaled up across Africa and beyond.
