Thus Green Africa Development Institute (GADI) is an organization that was established to develop and share solutions to promote green growth by Enabling Enterprise Sustainability for the benefit of the present and future generations of humankind. Green growth is a term used to describe a path of economic growth that uses natural resources in a sustainable manner. Green growth is used to provide an alternative concept to the typical industrial economic growth that has so far contributed to serious environmental destruction and biodiversity loss. GADI strives to advance learning and perpetuate it to posterity.

Servant leadership

Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve fairly and ethically but not to exploit the society for selfish gains. Servant leadership enriches the lives of individuals, builds better organizations and ultimately creates a more just and caring world.

WHY GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP. EDUCATION?

Many global challenges such as peace, poverty, health of the people and animals, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss and insecurity/peace require cooperation by all humans from all the nations of the world. They can't be solved by individual nations or communities. We are all connected and sailing in the same boat. In order for a secure sail of the boat, everyone should be vigilant to ensure some mischievous or unscrupulous guys don't drill holes. Hence the boat sinks. Thus the need to promote a global citizenship mindset. Socrates (469-399 BC) concurred: “I am not an Athenian or a Greek, but a citizen of the world. This was indeed a revolutionary thought, because at that time, social identity in Greece was either bound to the city-states, Athens and Sparta, or to the Greeks (the Hellenes). The great physicist, Albert Einstein, also advanced the idea of the need to adopt a global citizenship mindset by all humans. “You have to take ownership and leadership of tomorrow. For that to be possible, you have to strengthen your capacity and widen your vision as a global citizen. We must foster global citizenship. Education is more than literacy and numeracy. It is also about citizenry. Education must fully assume its essential role in helping people to forge more just, peaceful and tolerant societies.” ―Ban Ki Moon.
