As the fraternity of the Mombasa Youth Assembly, we want to take the opportunity to congratulate our president Mbarak for the great appointment as a director of the coast water board. This is a great milestone thrived on what we as an assembly believe that Mombasa Youth Assembly is the "college of leadership"

We want to wish him well in his new assignment as we are optimistic that he will mentor the upcoming generation of the Youth Assembly.

Today we had a Sensitisation and validation workshop of Mombasa Resource Center held at Sarova hotel_
The workshop was represented by stakeholders such as National employment authorities (NEA), International labour organisation(ILO), human rights groups, county government, Cotu, MYA, returnees among others.
The workshop highlighted the necessity of setting up a resource centre in Mombasa County that will be facilitating safe, orderly and fair labour migration.

Yesterday we had a public baraza in Old Town and among the topics that were touched were;
1. INSECURITY
The DO ensure that there will be increase of police patrol
The representative of the OCS said that people should come and report their cases so that the culprits can be found with evidence
Increase of CCTV camera to enhance security
Some Members highlighted that drugs is the big cause that brings about insecurity in Old Town
Unemployment was also an issue that was factored in contributing to insecurity

EDUCATION
Education need particular attention from the national government. We have a very high rate of failure in this sector.
Supervision of schools is absent.
Schools contravene laws against extra levies, long school hours with impunity. The government needs to return the school inspection system. We call upon the government to conduct spot checks on schools and arrest school administrators who force students to stay in school for long hours, including weekends.
There was an announcement that the county government bursary are available at the office of the MCA in their respective wards

SEWAGE
The residents urge the national government to comprehensive rehabilitate the sewer lines of Old Town. The entire location is bedevilled with raw sewage running on streets and this is a cholera time bomb that will affect areas well beyond Old Town and Mombasa. This is a crisis that requires urgent intervention.

Earlier today we had a meeting with some various CSO stakeholders from Muhuri
Topista Juma - (Programs officer) and Mama Millicent Adhiambio

Various issues that were discused was on how we can work with them in terms of mentoring and achieving the main agenda of the Mombasa Youth Assembly Women Caucus.

.

On 2nd of Feb we hosted the newly elected chairperson to the YOUTH ENTERPRISE FUND Board Hon Fatma Barayan at our office for a brief familiarization with the members of the Youth Assembly and other elected officials from the grassroot level.
We discussed on how we can streamline this opportunity to the grassroot levels and have the public get to understand more on the avenues present for one to be able to get this service.
We intend to partner with the office of Mombasa Youth Enterprise fund to be able to conduct a civic education to our fellow youths in Mombasa to enlightened them and be able to apply for the funds to start their own businesses.

Our Ms President led a team of youths in meeting Mr. from the office of the president in a session on Peace, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship at Close the Gap Kenya Ratna square Nyali

In our quest to engage the community in peace and security matters we are honored to have Hon. Omar Mwinyi MP changamwe as one of the guests who came to support the Mombasa Youth Assembly movement

Today at Chaani social hall, we learn that peace underlines our quality of life and the fabric of our communities as our weaponry becoming more powerful to our very survival as community in Mombasa and the country at large.

As part of our mandate as a non partisan organizations in political participation on the leadership of Mombasa county, we are glad to have been represented on the Mombasa Gubernatorial debate on Saturday.

We are greatful for the partnership and looking forward to make impact to the community, thanks Close the Gap Kenya Olivier Van Eynde Lilian K. Wambua Daylene Bichang'a and your team.

Congratulations to MYA team lead by our president for signing an MoU that seeks to offer opportunities for youths to be trained in entreprenuershipskills, fundraising and investment opportunities by and Close the Gap Kenya . This gives youths in grassroots equal and competitive advantage against their peers in the fight poverty.

We were honoured to be part of the youth stakeholders in driving the discussion on how to get jobs abroad in a secure way, in the exhibition forum convened by National Employment Authority.
We continue to champion for opportunities that will make impact and transform youths as our mandate in the ecosystem.

Bunge limeweza kukamilisha shuhuli zake za ndani ya bunge jana, hii ni ishara ya kuwa wamemaliza mkataba na wananchi kwa kuweza kufanya kazi ya uwakilishi, utungaji sheria na kuangalia ma swala ya kimaendeleo, haki na usawa.
Kwamda wa miaka mitano Bunge limeweza kupitisha miswada 114 na kuwa sheria kati ya miswada 342 ilio wasilishwa bungeni.
Bunge lina uwakilishi wa bunge 349, wakiwemo wa bunge 290 wanaowakilisha maeneo bunge, na 47 ni wawakilishi wa bunge wakike (women Rep) na wa Bunge 12 ambao ni wa bunge wa teule (nominated mp).
Hivi sasa hawa wote wamerudi mashinani kuomba tena nafasi ya kazi kurudi bungeni au kupigania wadhfa wengine wa kisiasa.

Je ukiwa mkenya, unahisi Bunge limeweza kushuhulikia matakwa yako, au limeweza kufanya kazi zake kwa maslahi ya mkenya na Taifa kwa Jumla!?

Mombasa Youth Assembly ikishirikiana na Organisation zote zilizo katika county ya Mombasa na nje ya county ya Mombasa, tunapenda tuweze kujumuika pamoja kesho Tononokaa saa tisa jioni (3pm) kwa kujakupeana heshma zetu za mwisho pamoja na kumuomboleza Hon Hyvone K. Mololo aliekuwa mbunge wa likoni wa MYA. Hivyo tunaomba sote tujitokeze na pia tuje na candles, ndio tumpe heshma ya mwisho.

As we continue with preparations for our Upcoming Parliamentary Session, the Mombasa Youth Assembly office of the Clerk made Courtesy Calls to different Stakeholders in Mombasa County including the County Police Commander Mr Stephen Matu who ensured his presence, as well as the County Assembly Clerk who emphasized on compliance with the County Standing Order as the session will be held at the County Assembly Auditorium.

As we commence our activities after the Recess, we had an engagement meeting with all the Youth leaders from Mombasa Youth Assembly in preparation for the first Youth Assembly Session this year, which is scheduled on Saturday 19th February, 2022.

We call upon all Young Men and Women in Mombasa and Kenya at large to join hands in upscaling Youth Agenda.
