Floods and drought as a result of climate change have caused a lot of devastation to our communities, leading to loss of lives and livelihoods. SCDO with funding from CREAW under the Jasiri Fund was able to support vulnerable and affected Women and families in our community as a measure to ensure their well being. SCDO was able to do a mapping of the vulnerable and affected families and supported them with food basket and dignity packs. WHERE THE RED DROP FALLS
Women and girls in the third world countries suffer great violence when something so natural that makes them women is turned into an instrument of abuse. Girls education is violated because they have to stay away from school for many days during the me**es in fear of soiling their clothes due to lack of sanitary towels and panties. Girls are scorned and bullied because of the drop.
Strategic Community Development is starting a campaign for NATIONS to view lack of sanitary towels and bullying of women and girls because of their me**es as a GENDER BASED VIOLENCE and should be treated as serious as any violence meted on women
SCD also calls on communities around the world to support girls in rural communities access sanitary towels and panties for girls to raise self esteem and maximize their development
