6.Hire and fire with decency till you get the right Match, don't put up with mediocre services,most of them are not loyal and are just sticking around for lack of better options

Afew years ago,the househelp work was mainly known for those who are uneducated. It was kazi ya mikono.
See how things change fast.... currently,most households are looking for literate people,people with initiative(watu wa kujituma), people who bring more than kazi ya mikono.

It's sad if in 2023,you are looking for a DM work and cannot do the basics....utajipata out of the job market.

What are the basics?

1.Childcare...Be interactive and ability to engage children. Mind your language. Ability to focus on children within different age brackets(I understand,we are not all wired to be nannies,know your abilities and go for jobs within the age groups you can manage)

*The fact you are mother,has zero relationship with your ability to be a nanny*

2. Cooking skills... At the very least,know how to cook the kenyan dishes. Huwezi kuwa unasema uko na experience ya more than 1yr and you say hujui kupika Chapo🤦🏾‍♀️. Nani atapika?... Kuna YouTube,jitume... Use bundles for learning

3. Housekeeping... Usafi wa nyumba. Some are still cleaning where the eyes za mdosi zinafika na salary unataka ya juu. Again,use internet to know what spring cleaning is. Jitumeni please

4. Laundry and ironing... Separation of clothes based on how dirty they are and colors. How do you mix children playing clothes na shirts za men🤦🏾‍♀️?.…
Alafu hio story ya pasi inanikunywa damu...ni story za jaba. It has no basis. Ironing is a skill you must know to survive in this industry.

Know how to use the basic household appliances (microwave, washing machine etc).. Be exposed as per the experience unasema uko nayo. Prove your words

How do you ensure you are the best in what you do?... By improving your skills...Do it to perfection. Don't settle for mediocre( I am also learning)

Finally.....you can have all the greatest skills but a rotten attitude...hautaenda mbali.
