A municipally funded organization in Pilsen called TURISMUS, whose main task is marketing and management of the Pilsen Region, has come up with nine places in the Pilsen area where you can take the best photos. And we are definitely not talking the usual castles and chateaux – those on the lookout for interesting Instagram shots can head to a Buddhist stupa or to the observation mound for instance. These nine recommendations can be found at visitplzen.eu where the destination management company also lists tips for instagramable locations in Pilsen.

Data confirm that the vision set out in the Concept for Incoming Tourism 2020-2023 is being fulfilled and that tourism is heading in the right direction. One of the key tools for the development of sustainable tourism is the visitor tax. In 2023 alone, the capital took 801 million crowns, part of which it reinvests in campaigns and projects that help attract a clientele willing to spend larger sums and behave towards the city with greater respect. This strategy has led to tourist spend increasing by 40% when compared to 2019, and the demand for luxury hotels has grown when compared to last year by a third.

A week ago today marked the 30th anniversary of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. We are honored, that the Czech delegation led by President Petr Pavel could pay respects to the victims on this important occasion.
In 1994, the Czech Ambassador to the United Nations Karel Kovanda was among the few who criticised the Security Council and he was the first who openly called the events in Rwanda a genocide on the floor of the UN. 30 years later, he was also present to partake in Kwibuka30.
Africa and Czechia have a long history, that might be surprising to some. But we supported our African partners in the past, and we do the same now.

3️⃣ Talking Through Art - non-profit organization led by Petr Kočnar, helping women with disabilities to find employment

We are hard at work trying to build partnerships in Africa. That's why we are happy that President Petr Pavel saw the progress during his official visit to 🇷🇼. A huge congratulations on their work to everyone involved.
