This is an overbust corset I made for myself for Christmas as well as a tulle skirt and also styled it with the halo's I made earlier in 2021 and decided to wear two of them for more drama

Halter over bust corset
The Inspiration of the corset is from the fishing culture of the Luo community specifically the basket traps they were used called osech kiteng'a, which was a fishing method only done by women. They were made with ropes from papyrus and carried on the head. Kiteng'a fishing was mainly done by married women
The color inspiration is from Pan Africanism that inspired the colors of various African flags Red, black, yellow, green and white. Here I used
• Black for the people
• Red for the blood shed on the path to freedom

FOUNDATIONS REVEALED and I decided to take part in their annual competition .

Named after one of the Power Puff Girls because she wanted a dress inspired by a flower.

Approximately 2 years ago I had the honor of working on this corset.
It not only represents Kenya but also had some inspiration from the Maasai culture.
