I really dig the Nissan Note! It's super spacious for a hatchback, way roomier than most station wagons out there. Plus, it's a fuel-saver, which is awesome if you're on a tight budget. I'm a fan of almost everything about this car. It's been around since 2005, first hitting the roads in Japan and a few other spots. The first gen, the E11, was on the scene from 2005 to 2013, while the second gen, the E12, has been rolling since 2012. But here's the deal: in Kenya, the driving conditions are way different from Japan and Europe, and one big issue with the Note is its ground clearance. At 4.9 inches, it's way below the recommended 7.5 inches for Kenyan roads. That means it might struggle with some speed bumps and could mess up your car's underside, like the oil pan and exhaust. Not fun, especially when you've got a full car.

But hey, we've got you covered! We've got quality coil springs that'll give your Note the clearance it needs without sacrificing comfort or stability. They go for Ksh. 2250 each for ex Japan and Ksh. 3500 each for new ones. Hit us up at 0746560486 or 0734671090.

Mercedes Benz W202, known for its rear-wheel-drive configuration and elegant design, often faces issues with ground clearance and suspension noises, especially in imported models. Recently, I worked on a W202 that exhibited these common problems.

Produced between 1993 and 2000, the W202 features a front double-wishbone setup and a rear multi-link arrangement. This design offers excellent stability and control, but components can wear out over time, causing noise and reduced ground clearance.

1. Noise Issues:
- Worn Bushings: Deteriorated rubber bushings can cause squeaks and rattles. Replacing them with high-quality bushings can resolve noise problems.
- Damaged Shock Absorbers: Leaking or worn-out shocks can contribute to a noisy ride. Upgrading to performance or OEM-spec shocks can improve noise and ride quality.

2. Ground Clearance Problems:
- Sagging Springs: Coil springs can lose tension, reducing ground clearance. This is common in imported models with extensive use.
- Incorrect Suspension Setup Imported vehicles may not have the suspension adjusted for local road conditions, resulting in low ground clearence

1. Stronger Springs: Replacing stock springs with taller, stiffer ones can increase ride height by a couple of inches.
2. Adjustable Coilovers
3. Spring Spacers

Upgrading suspension components can improve the lifespan and performance of older vehicles like the W202. Studies by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highlight that modern suspension technologies and tailored adjustments for local road conditions enhance ride comfort, durability, and safety.

Addressing noise and inadequate ground clearance in the W202 involves replacing worn components and adjusting the suspension setup. Whether using taller springs, adjustable coilovers, or spring spacers, choosing high-quality parts is key. These upgrades not only improve performance but also contribute to vehicle longevity

we had a Mazda Atenza with extremely low ground clearance come into the workshop. The fender gap was almost non-existent, causing a few major problems for the owner:

- Scraping the underbelly on every speed bump
- Wheels rubbing the wheel arch with any load
- Avoiding rough roads at all costs

The owner always had to ask about road conditions before heading out, often choosing Uber or public transport if the roads were bad.

We replaced the coil springs and managed to lift the car by 3 inches. The results were impressive:

- Improved ground clearance without losing stability
- Enhanced comfort and a firm, not-too-bouncy ride
- One happy owner who can now drive anywhere

The Mazda Demio, also known as the Mazda2 in other markets, has been in production for four generations. The first generation, known as the DW, was produced from 1996 to 2002. The second generation, the DY, spanned from 2002 to 2007. The third generation, the DE, was in production from 2007 to 2014. The current, fourth generation, the DJ, has been in production since 2014.
Despite its compact size, the Mazda Demio delivers a surprisingly adept driving experience. At highway speeds, it glides along effortlessly and is quieter than most hatchbacks. While it can feel slightly unsteady around corners, this isn’t typically concerning.

One notable issue with the DE series is the rear axle, which has a tendency to break. Additionally, the Demio’s ground clearance of 5.5 inches (140mm) is somewhat low for Kenyan roads. Fully loaded, the vehicle might struggle to clear speed bumps, necessitating ground clearance adjustments.
To enhance ground clearance, installing standard heavy-duty coil springs is recommended. These springs, made from high-strength alloys, provide the necessary durability and flexibility. In steels, medium and high-carbon steels are preferred for their superior strength, high elastic limit, and low modulus. An ideal spring material must exhibit a substantial elastic range to withstand large deflections, essential for maintaining resilience.

Given Kenya’s driving conditions, low ground clearance can lead to cosmetic damage and, more critically, damage to vital components like the oil sump and exhaust. Heavy loads and large bumps can become problematic, making it essential to adjust the ground clearance for optimal performance.
While the Mazda Demio is a reliable vehicle with no major issues aside from the rear axle, adjustments in ground clearance can significantly enhance its performance on Kenyan roads. By installing heavy-duty coil springs, you can ensure a smoother and safer driving experience.

The Toyota Ractis, a popular subcompact car, has seen various iterations since its introduction in 2005. Known for its spacious interior and efficient design, the Ractis has been a favorite among urban drivers. However, one common challenge with this model is its low ground clearance, which can be problematic on Kenya's rugged roads.

The first generation (2005-2010) and the second generation (2010-2016) of the Toyota Ractis maintained a low profile, aimed at maximizing fuel efficiency and urban maneuverability. While these attributes are beneficial for city driving, the low ground clearance often poses difficulties on uneven and unpaved Kenyan roads.

Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a Toyota Ractis that faced this exact challenge. Our goal was to enhance its ground clearance without compromising on comfort and stability. After careful assessment, we successfully raised the vehicle by 2 inches. This adjustment significantly improved the car's performance on rough terrain, providing the driver with a smoother and more comfortable ride.

Constant Velocity (CV) joints are crucial components of your car's drivetrain, allowing power to be transmitted smoothly from the transmission to the drive wheels at a constant speed. Recognizing the signs of a worn-out CV joint can help prevent more severe damage and ensure your vehicle remains safe to drive. Here are the common signs that indicate your CV joint might be failing:

1. Clicking or Popping Noises:
- One of the most common symptoms of a bad CV joint is a clicking or popping noise when turning. This noise usually becomes louder during sharper and faster turns.

2. Grease on the Inside of Your Wheels:
- If you notice grease on the inside edges of your tires, it could be a sign that the CV boot, which houses the joint, has torn. The grease inside the boot leaks out, leading to CV joint wear.

3. Vibration While Driving:
- A damaged CV joint can cause the axle to become unbalanced, leading to noticeable vibrations when driving, especially at higher speeds. This vibration can often be felt in the steering wheel.

4. Bouncy Ride:
- A worn-out CV joint can make your ride feel more bouncy and less smooth. This happens because the joint can no longer maintain the proper alignment of the wheels.

5. Loud Knocking Sounds:
- When the CV joint is significantly worn out, you might hear a loud knocking sound, especially when accelerating or decelerating.

If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, it's crucial to have your vehicle inspected by a professional. I Good in diagnosing and fixing worn-out CV joints and other car related issues.
