The NEC was chaired by Nelson Dzuya (Chairman) and attended by other members including Kanini Kega, Dr Naom Shaban, Jimmy Angwenyi, Bonface Gatobu, Peter Mositet, Joshua Kutuny and Dr Rachel Nyamai, among others.
Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta remains the Jubilee party leader.
However, Mr Kioni has downplayed reports that he has been kicked out of Jubilee leadership.
He maintains that he is still the Jubilee secretary general and that the party is firmly in Azimio.

When you lose an election, you go through various stages of denial. At one stage you start seeing your own things. We know there were no police at former CS Matiangi's home. It was a dream, part of the stages of denial. So please pray for them - Alfred Mutua, CS Foreign Affairs
Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has dismissed allegations that the government dispatched police officers to arrest former Interior boss Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday.
Dr. Mutua also defended President William Ruto against claims of being behind the alleged raid, terming him as a man on a mission to transform the country, and not one out to punish his perceived political enemies.
The CS went ahead to allege that Matiang’i, a former President Uhuru Kenyatta ally, could possibly have “made up” the raid over what he termed as “living in a state of denial” after supporting the losing side in the 2022 General Election.
“Our President is not a man of revenge, he’s not a man of petty politics, yeye ameshashinda anataka kujenga nchi, hakuna mtu ambaye anamfuata,” Dr. Mutua said on Friday.
“Unajua, wakati unapoteza, unaenda through stages ambazo zina uchungu k**a denial, Tumeskia rafiki yangu mwengine mkubwa akisema amezingirwa na polisi, na ni hizo stages tu, tusimchukue vibaya...tunajua unafika stage unaanza kuona mambo yako...kwa sababu tunajua serikali hakuna polisi walituma.”
He further poked holes into the alleged raid at Matiang’i’s home, questioning how not a single person – including the multitude of lawyers that were on scene – managed to capture a single photo or video of the action as evidence, in this day and era of a digital revolution.
“Kusema ukweli, mimi nimekuwa kwa siasa na filamu kwa muda mrefu, k**a kungekuwa na polisi hapo...na naskia walikuwa na lawyers mia mbili...si wangepiga picha? Si kungekuwa na video inazunguka kwa mtandao? Mbona hakuna video ama picha ata moja?” He posed.
“Kwa sababu ilikuwa ni ile ndoto, ile stage ya denial, kwa hivo tuwaombee...ukiona mtu anafanya hivo, msishtuke, ni ile shida imewapata kwa sababu walikuwa na ile kiburi wanafikiria watashinda.”
Matiang’i claims that on February 9, 2023, his home was raided, surrounded and cordoned off by police officers who were seeking to arrest him.
According to the former CS, the police officers only retreated after the media and his lawyers arrived.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki has since come out to state that no police officers were sent to Matiang'i's home as claimed.
"Dr. Matiang'i’s lawyers and some politicians who spoke from the scene alleged that the said persons were police officers sent to arrest the former Cabinet Secretary. This allegation is utterly false," said Kindiki in a statement.
"No police officer(s) or any security agent from any Government institution or department was dispatched to the home of Dr. Matiang’i to arrest, harass or otherwise interfere with his Constitutional rights in any manner whatsoever."
Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin also noted that, after conducting an independent probe to determine the authenticity of Matiang’i’s claims, they discovered that the incident was nothing more but a “well-coordinated and deliberate attempt to spread false information and incite public fear.”
In the meantime, the High Court has since granted Matiang'i anticipatory bail barring police from arresting and detaining him.
Justice Kanyi Kimondo granted the orders after Matiang'i moved to court on Thursday claiming he is under imminent threat of arrest by the police and is justifiably apprehensive that his constitutional rights are being violated

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has asked all employers to immediately comply with the court verdict that allowed an increase in monthly deductions as outlined by the NSSF Act 2013 to take effect.
In a statement issued on Friday, NSSF Chairman Antony Munyiri said: “The Employers who have been complying with the NSSF Act No. 45 of 2013 Act should continue doing so, while those who are not should comply as advised”.
The new rates will see both employee and employer contribute a total of Ksh.2,160 up from Ksh.200.
According to NSSF, every employer will be required to remit the new amount by the 9th of every month.
This comes after three Court of Appeal judges, Hannah Okwengu, Mohamed Warsame and John Mativo set aside a High Court order issued in September last year that had declared the NSSF Act 2013 unconstitutional, citing a lack of public participation and non-concurrence by the Senate during the legislative process.
By declaring the NSSF Act 2013 legal and constitutional, three Court of Appeal judges last Friday ended a prolonged legal battle that had raged on since 2014.
Kenya Tea Growers Association and 14 others had moved to the High Court, contesting the new law, claiming public participation was not carried out effectively and the senate was not involved in the legislative process.
The appellate court held that the Employment and Labour Relations Court had no jurisdiction to hear and determine the matter.
NSSF through its board chairman Anthony Munyiri welcomed the court of appeal decision, paving the way for implementation of the NSSF Act 2013 and effecting new monthly deductions.
For some employees who were parting with Ksh.200 every month as statutory deductions, their contribution to NSSF will immediately rise ten-fold. Their employers will match the monthly contributions.
Those earning less than ksh.15,000 monthly will be required to part with ksh.350 per month. Those earning Ksh.15,000 will be deducted ksh.900 per month, while those with a monthly income of Ksh.18,000 and above will be deducted ksh.1,080 an amount their employers will match.
Some Ksh.3,000 will be deducted from those earning at least Ksh.50,000 per month. This is a 6% deduction on their monthly income, and a similar contribution from employers, making it a total of 12% per month.
The NSSF board chairman termed the new deductions a significant milestone and win for Kenyan workers that enables them to enhance their savings and secure their financial future and ensure that they retire with dignity.
The court of appeal decision boosts President William Ruto’s push for higher retirement savings to at least 25%, up from the current 12%. An increase he says will help create a pool of funds that the government can borrow to finance infrastructure development at affordable interest rate and reduce the country’s appetite for expesive foreign debt.
The NSSF Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr. Anthony Munyiri, implies that Employers are required to remit the said member monthly contribution to the Fund by the 9th of every month.
