Five Fun Facts About Elephants
Elephants are truly fascinating creatures with many unique characteristics. Here are five fun facts about elephants that will surely captivate your interest:
The Largest Land Animal: Elephants hold the title of the largest land animals on Earth. Adult males can weigh up to a whopping 14,000 pounds and can stand as tall as 13 feet at the shoulder. Thatβs taller than a double-decker bus!
Remarkable Memories: Elephants are renowned for their excellent memory. They can remember the locations of water sources over long distances and recognize other elephants, even after years apart. Their long memories help them survive in the wild.
Complex Social Lives: Elephants live in tight-knit family groups that are usually led by a wise matriarch. These groups display a wide range of emotions, including joy, anger, and even grief. They are known to comfort each other in times of distress.
Sophisticated Communication: Elephants have a complex system of communication that includes vocalizations like trumpets and low-frequency rumbles that can travel several kilometers. They also use body language and touch to communicate with each other.
Environmental Engineers: Elephants play a crucial role in shaping their environment. By knocking down trees and creating water holes, they help maintain the health of their ecosystems, which benefits many other species of animals and plants.
Why Do We Celebrate World Elephant Day?
We celebrate World Elephant Day to raise awareness about the critical issues that threaten elephants and to promote efforts to protect them. Elephants face numerous challenges, including habitat destruction, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal poaching for their ivory tusks. By celebrating this day, we can spread the word about these problems and support the conservation efforts that aim to save elephants from extinction. Itβs a day to remind ourselves and others of the importance of these majestic animals and the need to ensure their survival for future generations.

Oldest Northern White Rhino in the World!
Najin is 35 years old!!
Najin is a northern white rhino, a subspecies of white rhino which used to roam over parts of Uganda, Chad, Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Years of widespread poaching and civil war in these areas have devastated the northern white rhino population. They are now considered to be extinct in the wild. Only two remain, both living on Ol Pejeta Conservancy in northern Kenya: Najin and her daughter Fatu.

The Ultimate Safari!
Sit on your veranda and look over the Mara River at one of Africaβs greatest stretches of savanna, with the Rift Valley escarpment in the distance. Migrating wildebeest gather on these riverbanks and begin their migration into the Masai Mara. You will hear the sounds of grunting gnu, hippos, hyenas and lions from your bed at night. These wild animals are very closeby, so our red-robed Maasai warriors es**rt you to your room after dinner and drinks around the camp fire, where youβll find a hot water bottle warming the bed.
The Entim experience is not your average hotel or lodge; itβs a feeling of being part of the landscape and having profound encounters with wild animals and Maasai people in their own land. Itβs a sharing of passions and significant moments in the heart of one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world.
Itβs the ultimate safari!

The Great Wildebeest Migration
One of the most sought-after experiences for wildlife and nature enthusiasts, the Great Migration is the ever-moving circular migration of over a million animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem.
The constant movement of columns of wildebeest, joined by a host of companions, follow an age-old route in search of grazing and water. After calving in the southern part of Tanzaniaβs Serengeti near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the animals journey through the Serengeti up and around in a clockwise direction towards the Masai Mara in Kenya, before returning once again near the end of the year. Along the way, high drama is always present, as predators take thousands of animals and thousands more are born, replenishing the numbers and sustaining the circle of life...Read more
