on Life Insurance
1. Understand why You Need Life Insurance- You need to understand that this is an investment that is essential for everyone who wants the best for their loved ones. It’s a LOVE insurance
2. Get to know how much to buy- Understand the needs of beneficiaries so that you can know how much you will spend on the Insurance. Know how much money your dependents need each year and for how long. The number may differ because they are likely of different ages. Calculate the needs of each dependent annually, multiple times the number of years support is needed and then add those numbers together so all dependents have what they need.
3. Know and Understand the type of insurance you need- There two types ;
• Term life insurance - policies last for a specified period of time. Term life is less expensive than whole life because it usually expires before the benefits are used.
• Whole life insurance- lasts from the day you the policy until the day you die, no matter. A whole life policy is more expensive because the coverage could last a few years or several decades.
Know which term that suites you best for you and your loved ones between Term life Insurance and Whole life Insurance.

We got you! Our previous post explains this and many other insurance terms!
Below are some informative components used in medical Insurance and benefits of having a medical Insurance cover.
Health Insurance has some terms and components which
most people are not familiar with. These components
include;
Premium - the amount paid by the insurance owner to the
company classified as fees. This fee is of all the sudden
health emergencies whose expenses are supposed to be
paid by the insurance company. The dues ere be paid
directly to the hospital.
Copayment - A fixed amount (for example, Kshs1500)
you pay for a covered health care service, usually when
you get the service. The amount can vary by the type of
covered health care service.
Coinsurance - In health insurance, coinsurance is
sometimes used synonymously with copayment, but is
defined differently – a copay is typically fixed while the
coinsurance is a percentage that the insurer pays after the
insurance policy’s deductible is met.
Deductible -This is the amount that each person has to
pay for the costs of a health problem before the amount
supposed to be paid by the insurance company is liable.
Coverage limits - Depending on the package, a person
has bought, an amount of for example Kshs 1,000,000 is
fixed annually after when exhausted, one will have to pay
from their own pockets.
Exclusions -Those items or medical services that are not
covered by the health plan.
What are the benefits of having a health Insurance?
1. Having a health insurance policy covers you with the
consultation fees or visiting a doctor
2. In case your health requires a specialist, your policy
will cover specialist fees for checkups.
3. In the event, you are hospitalized as a result illness,
your insurer will meet all the hospitalization expenses
including treatment, laboratory tests, medicine cost,
and admission care
4. The insurance companies will cover the cost of drugs
recommended by the physician. This may include the
medicines obtained from hospital’s pharmacy, or from
a chemist accredited by the insurance company.
5. Some insurance companies include an ambulance
benefit. In this event, the insurance companyprovides an ambulance to take you to the hospital in
case of an emergency.
6. Health insurance policy can extend coverage to the
insured's parents/parents-in-law, spouse and children.
Throwback Thursday
Our today is on Comprehensive car coverage
What is a comprehensive car Insurance? What does it
mean?
Comprehensive car insurance covers damage caused by
accidents that don’t involve colliding with another vehicle
or object. That means this type of smart coverage,
minus the cost of your comprehensive deductible, pays
for damage caused by things like,
Theft
Vandalism
Fires or explosions
Natural disasters
Certain falling objects
Floods
What is the cost of your comprehensive deductible?
It’s the amount of money you have to pay toward repairs
before your insurance covers the rest.. For example, if
you're in an accident that causes Kshs.30,000 worth of
damage to your car and your deductible is Kshs.5,000,
you will only have to pay Kshs.5000 toward the repair.
What is not covered by a comprehensive Cover? Medical bills- That is your own medical bill and
that of your passengers, or that of other driver and
other passengers
Damage to another person's vehicle
Policy exclusions – anything excluded from your
policy.
Important note
If your car is stolen, for example, your insurance
company would reimburse you for your car's depreciated
value, minus your deductible. In other words, if you
wanted to replace your stolen vehicle with a newer make
and model, you would likely have to use some of your
own money to do so, in addition to using the
reimbursement from your insurer.
It's a new week to achieve those new goals. Ours is to make sure you have peace of mind! At hifadhi Africa Insurance, we have the best medical plans that are customized to fit your needs! Talk to us today on 0765 325 625 or send an email to [email protected] and get to know more!
