The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas is a matter of great concern to the international community. While recognizing the complex and deep-rooted issues underlying this conflict, it is imperative that we emphasize the protection of innocent civilians, particularly children and women, as well as the sanctity of hospitals and humanitarian workers.

The loss of innocent lives, especially among the most vulnerable members of society, is a tragedy that touches our collective conscience. It is therefore of utmost importance that all parties involved in this conflict,exercise the utmost restraint and precautionary measures to prevent harm to non-combatants.

Hospitals and humanitarian workers play an indispensable role in providing essential care and assistance to those in need.Targeting of these institutions or personnel not only undermines their crucial mission but also constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law.

In the pursuit of peace and a resolution to this longstanding conflict, let us come together to advocate for the protection of children, women, hospitals, and humanitarian workers. The road to a peaceful resolution may be challenging, but it is our shared responsibility to ensure that the innocent are shielded from the horrors of war and that humanitarian efforts can continue without interruption.

We join with others to call for cease fire and end to hostilities and create an environment where all parties can engage in constructive dialogue and negotiation towards a lasting peace in the region.

Our 2nd Charity Walk in Dallas TX 2014.

Our First Walk was held in Nairobi in 2013.We flagged off from Kenyatta International Convention Centre and walked to Kibra Slums where we held a free medical Camp. The then Kibra MP, the late Hon Ken Okoth RIP was chief walker.

Over a decade, we have been onbthe forefront champion universal helathcare and reacing out to the Vulnerable with comprehensive medical camps. We have encountered many challanges, many failures and also extremely many successes.

This week is World Health Worker Week, as Hawi Foundation, we celebrate our heroes on the field of providing humanitarian services

We are medical Humanitarian organization providing free treatment and free surgeries to the vulnerable in Kenya.

For a decade we have conducted 41 free medical camps and 9 free surgical camps where thousands of people have been helped.

For a responsive and sustainable impact,we have embarked to set up a chain of Medical Centres across Kenya.These facilities will serve the vulnerable at no cost and rest of the population at a fair fee, therefore will be able to generate income for its sustainability.

We have already set up our first medical centre on 18th Street, Eastleigh Section, Nairobi Kenya.At this Facility we provide free comprehensive medical care to the people of Motherland and Kiambio slum. The general public receive such comprehensive care at affordable price to allow us break even and sustain our programs.

MUKURU KWA NJENGA MEDICAL CAMP.

So Mukuru send an SOS.'Tuko mbaya Saidi ya Saidi, tafadhali leta matibabu'

There was this guy from Sinai called Lover boy.If you have been to Sinai, then youshould be knowing him. He volunteered in our Medical Camp and Ng'ando Slums, I loved his work ethics so when he invited us to Mukuru, we were all happy to join.

Two weeks before the camp, I and Ann Thumbi visited the slums to do a community mapping. Wadau Kibra is not a Slum, visit Mukuru and Deap sea and see for yourselves what a slum is.(I know some of you dont know there is a slum in Nairobi called Deap Sea).

At Mukuru we met the Police, area chief, area MCA church leaders and all was well.We forgot to meet the Most important leadership in Mukuru. The Kambimoto Kingdom and their King. During the tour of the slum our tour guide could point to us members of the Kingdom.'Unaone ule jamaa, ndio mkubwa wa wagondi hapa mtaa'. They were so calm probably wondering how stupid we were to bypass them.

Fast forward, we have the medical camp which was very successful, the largest turn out I have ever done in Nairobi.Actually Citizen TV Kenya crew came to cover the event and they requested to interview the CEO of Hawi Foundation. They found me at left side of the tent tired and slightly drifted.

' Tafadhali naomba kuongea na Mkurugezi wa hii kikundi.... blablabla..' I cant remember what he said because Victor Wetende spoke in Kiswahili type A+. mimi nikojua Kiswahili Type B minor. You can guess the expression in their faces when I said I am the one. Those fellows have never seen a grey man. I suppose so because of how he instructed the camera man to position his camera.

The exciting part of this camp began towards the closer of the camp. Some young men came to the grounds but did not line for treatment. They sat quietly in the holding area.When we were done at about 18:45pm,the guys stood up each with his chair, they jumped over the wall of Mukuru Kwa Njenga Primary school and that is how we lost about 50 chairs and microscope.These guys didn't run with the chairs,they walked with them majesticaly in our full view. Just imagine seeing about 20 persons on top of a wall at once each carrying a plastic white or blue chair.

That very night we reached out to the Mafia Leader and invited him and his 4 Chiefs to a meeting at KICC. After a 'jovial' meeting they agreed to take charge of our security and properties.It was jovial because this meeting was a necessary evil. We told the police we dont need their services.

For Four days our tents, tables, and chairs remained at the grounds of Mukuru Kwa Njenga under their custody with no other loss.We also got additional hands for various errand.

Next time I walk with you in any slum within Nairobi and you see several people Gotearing. Know that I am home

~This patient was brought to the camp with a urinary retention due to bladder muscles disfuctions as result of bladder infection~we relived the retention and referred her to the hospital immediately.

THE NAIROBI COUNTY STREET FAMILIES MEDICAL CAMP.

This was one of the most fulfilling Medical Mission we ever done. We reached out to street families in Nairobi with a comprehensive medical camp,entertainment, talent show, snap mentorship and linkages.

We also provided food,dinned together and danced our day out.For posterity we helped some reunite with their families,we also picked up conditions that required further care and ensured they were successfully helped.We linked them with the county government and other Not for Profits organization for rescure and support.

It is only by Grace that we made this possible.

UNDERSTANDING CANCER.

50 tribes with different culture,diet and way of life,Kenya is a good place for Cancer research.

We are currently on phase two of cancer research covering 34 countries and 23 Universities and a number of Hospitals.upon completion it will be the largest research to understand the causes of cancer.

I will Enumerate here a few points on cancer.

Cancer is a broad group of diseases involving unregulated cell growth

Genetics and exposure to radiation makes some of us at risk of getting cancer.

To understand better what causes a disease,you must understand how it thrives and sustains itself in the body.

The top three most prevalent cases of cancer affects Kenyans in the same pattern.

The cancer cases in Kenya does not follow a predictable epidemiological pattern.That is cancer affects the poor,rich,white collar people,mjengo people and juakali equally.

So what is this thing that we do as a nation that uniformly cut across.FOOD.

Do all tribes eat fish,meat,rice,matoke,milk,ugali etc equally across Kenya.NO

What about Cooking oil,Not all tribes use cooking oil in same proportion.But yes oil has nitrites and nitrates.

All tribes in Kenya use Sugar in almost same pattern.

The Human Pancreases is the least place you will have sugar,however a pancreatic cancer has very very high concentration of SUGAR.(SEE ATTACHED CT SCAN AND PET SCAN.Note the Pancreases illuminates as a result of Glucose.Why this high level of Sugar in Cancer cells?

Our normal cells and Cancer cells both metabolizes Glucose to CO2(with oxygen) of lactate(little or no oxygen)

Sugar is broken down through Glycolysis to PYRUVATE.The enzyme that generates PYRUVATE is called PYRUVATE KINASE.This enzyme is altered in ALL Cancer cells.A clear proof that the major food and fuel for cancer is sugar.

According to American Vetenary Medicine Association 1 in 4 dogs in the USA have some form of Cancer or neoplasm.50% of dogs older than 10 years in USA have cancer/neoplasm.

Do dogs in the USA consume food containing processed sugar in their diet.YES

In Kenya dogs doesn’t feed on processed sugars in their diet.

In Africa we don’t have this much high cancer prevalence in dogs.Local breeds of dogs have the very least cases of neoplasm.Cross breed,German Shepherds and Rottweilers in that order are the most affected by cancer in Kenya.([email protected])

In the larger Kenya we give dogs remains of our food that we eat at home (German Shepherds,Rottweilers and cross breeds majorly eat processed dog food)

What food do dogs in America feed on .PROCESSED FOOD.What are the contents?

What is this food that we eat,but we don’t give our dogs.SUGAR.

We are now at advanced stages to study the effect of Sugar on human cells,immediate and over time.What happens if cancer cells is deprived of sugar.

Please remove processed sugar in your diet.Avoid canned foods because of Nitrites and Nitrates.Sugar has nitrates and Nitrites.

ANTI SNAKE VENOM.

The snake venom is mechanically extracted from a live snake,the extracted venom is then injected into a horse in a non lethal dose,The donor horse will make antibodies.We then obtain the horse serum that already has antibodies for that snake poison which is the ANTI-SNAKE VENOM.

That is what we use in the hospital when someone comes with a snake bite and requires anti snake venom.

MEDICAL APPEAL.

Kindly help Baby Brian get a TOF surgery for a heart condition he is having.

Baby Brian was brought to our attention by a previous beneficiary.We put him under the care of Prof Jowi at Mater Hospital.

At her recommendation,the baby was referred to India Cardiac Centre for surgery because of the Complex nature of the intended surgery.

Currently Baby Ryan is readmitted at Mater Hospital after suffering acute Pneumonia so far incurred a bill of Ksh 360,000( Ksh 310,000 has been cleared)

Kindly send any little donation to the above Paybill to help evacuate the baby to India for Surgery.

The Paybill Number And funds are controlled by the Family Committee.

Surgeons opened her skull to remove a cancerous tumor. Instead, they found a tapeworm. "I want people to understand that this was such a rare occurrence," Palma said about the tapeworm that was in her brain. "Every headache is not going to be a parasite."

DONATION TO RINGA HEALTH CENTRE.

By HIS Grace we were able to make donations of hospital supplies,drugs and sundries to Ringa Health facility.

On this visit held on May 17th 2019,we met the Hospital staffs and some members of the Hospital Management Team.This was also a fact finding visit to understand their vision,challenges,strengths and areas that require urgent support.

Ringa Health Centre was constructed by the community 2 years ago and handed over to the County Government of Homabay.It was officially Opened in November 2017

This health facility attends to about 30 patients (above 5 years) and 20 patients (Below 5 years) in a daily basis and it is the NEAREST health facility serving a population of about 17,000 of Kojwach Ward.

The facilty has a Myriad of Challanges.
1.There is no Laboratory (Urgently required)
2.Shortage of staff;There are only two staffs employed by the County government,the remaining 4 are volunteers.
3.Lack of drugs.The supplies are delivered by the county government quarterly,but inconsistently,inadequate and with delays.
4.No electricity for the facilty.
5.No Autoclave
6.Need for more infrastructure like Children’s Ward,Obstetrics and Gynecology Ward and Minor theatre.
7. No running water in the hospital.

ACTION PLAN.
I will donate a Laboratory for this facility in June and will be up and running in July 2019.

We have reached out to the area Member of Parliament to instal power to the facilty through the Constituency Development Fund.

We have entered into a Health System Strengthening agreement with Ringa Health Centre where Hawi Foundation shall help improve structure for the next 3 years.

ORIWO HEALTH CENTRE DONATION.

Today we received assortment of medical supplies donation from our Friends Rodney GB Clement,Lori Spivey and our partner Florida Africa Foundation .This donation will be handed over to Oriwo Health Centre,a Clinic constructed by the community to provide healthcare the people of Ringa Village.

Hawi Foundation is helping with the Health System Strengthening of the facility.

It was our great honor to host Lori and Rodney again in Nairobi.We thank them for their continued support
