What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are shaped to go over the front of your teeth.Veneers are shaped or coloured with the results you desire. Typically these thin sheets of porcelain last for as long as ten years before you need to replace them with a new set. In the years that you have them, your smile will look amazing day after day!
How do Porcelain Veneers Affect Your Teeth?
Porcelain veneers don’t harm your teeth in any way as long as you see a qualified dentist like ours at SMILE STUDIO😊. The first step to providing our patients with veneers includes taking x-rays to make sure your teeth are healthy and free of tooth decay. Sometimes we may need to treat your teeth before we can begin your treatment.
Once your teeth are healthy and ready to go, we prep your teeth for veeners. This procedure provides you with beautiful results that provide your teeth with protection and prevent stains.
Over the next decade, you will enjoy your beautiful porcelain veneers. Eventually, you will need to replace them with a new set so they stay looking amazing, but regardless of how many veneers you have over the years, you won’t ruin your teeth. Your teeth are still safe and protected underneath the veneers.
If you’re ready to transform your smile with porcelain veneers or have any additional questions answered, please schedule a consultation with us on 0711279035.

A palatal expander is used by orthodontists to widen the upper jaw of a child’s mouth. This widening of the upper jaw can help to ensure that there is enough room in the child’s mouth when their permanent teeth come in. When determining whether or not you’d like to use a palatal expander for your child, it is important that you are well informed about them, have all of your questions answered and your concerns addressed by Dr. Elvis Mutai At SMILE STUDIO 😃
Why Are They Used In Children?
Palatal expanders are used in children because their jaws are still growing and the sutures of the jaw have not yet fused together. This helps to stretch both the bones and cartilage and essentially reshapes and enlarges the jaw before it can fuse permanently. Since a child’s jaw generally fuses into place around 14-16 years old, it is often well before this age range that your child’s orthodontist will recommend the use of a palatal expander.
What Can They Correct?
Palatal expanders can correct a few different issues with teeth and bite. If your child suffers from a crossbite, this means that their upper jaw is more narrow than their lower jaw. This causes the bottom teeth to protrude forward and come in front of their top teeth. The palatal expander can be used on the upper jaw in this case to widen it and allow it to match up correctly with the bottom jaw.
Crowding of teeth is another issue that a palatal expander can fix. It does this by lengthening and widening the upper jaw and creating more space for the permanent teeth to come in. An impacted tooth is a tooth that never rises above the surface of your gums because it is stuck underneath another tooth and has nowhere else to go. In this case, the palatal expander can shift the placement of the teeth in the mouth and create more room for the impacted tooth to come out.
DISIMPACTION refers to the surgical removal of the last molar, commonly referred to as WISDOM TOOTH.
The last molar is usually the last tooth to erupt thereby finding most of the jaw space already taken up by the other teeth. In most patients it either comes out and is partly covered by the gum or it erupts but tips forward making cleaning difficult. The difficulty in cleaning predisposed these teeth to cavities and are removed at some point in time.
Since the teeth are partially submerged,a minor surgical procedure is done and the impacted tooth is removed under local anaesthesia.
🪥🦷Biannual cleaning and examination help you quash dental problems before they arise and leave your gums healthier and your teeth cleaner and whiter. A professional cleaning removes hard plaque that cannot be removed by brushing and flossing alone. It also involves a fluoride treatment and polish to help protect and soothe your teeth and gums.

Implants provide a stable foundation for your new teeth . Whilst some tooth replacement options such as dentures move about, especially during meals, implants are anchored to the bone in your jaw like natural teeth, and therefore are more firmly placed and do not prevent you from eating as you would desire.☺️☺️

It's never too late to improve the health and appearance of your smile.
Braces are the most common fixed appliances, and when placed they gradually move your teeth to their proper position within a few months or a few years.
The braces used today are much smaller, lighter and reveal less metal than in the past.
