KCSE STUDENTS URGED TO PURSUE TECHNICAL COURSES BEFORE JOINING UNIVERSITY

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education students waiting to join university have been advised to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions before heading to the university.

Speaking to students from St Mary Goret High School in Moshi Tanzania, CUPA CEO John Gitau said it is vital for every student aiming for university should pursue a short course in a TVET institution.

According to Gitau, the job market is flooded with university graduates who lack technical skills.

"There is a great benefit in taking a short course in a TVET institution whether you are destined to university or not. Acquiring technical skills is key in today's job market", Gitau said.

The students got an opportunity to learn about the various opportunities available overseas.

CUPA is a private agency which places students to institutions of higher learning in Kenya and abroad.
