With the kind of weather we are having, we all need a good cup of tea or two, and an amazing playlist, even better when it's a live experience.
And that is why this Sunday, 9th April, the magnificent 2Tea, has put together an Easter special for you dubbed Chai Ni Mbili; a beautiful compilation of his own music to form what he calls an Afro Grooving Experience.
Tickets go for Kes. 400/=, which gets you two cups of tea and the musical experience.
Get your ticket, and see you at the event.

βWhat the world wants, what the world is waiting for, is not Modern Poetry or Classical Poetry or Neo-Classical Poetry but Good Poetry. And the dreadful disreputable doubt, which stirs in my own skeptical mind, is doubt about whether it would really matter much what style a poet chose to write in, in any period, as long as he wrote Good poetry.β
~G. K Chesterton
As we celebrate World Poetry Day today, we acknowledge and celebrate all the performance poets, spokenword artists, page poets, thespians, writers, event organizers, photographers, MCs/Hosts, venues, food vendors, ticketing platforms, partners, sponsors, crew and support staff that have made the poetry industry in Nakuru and Kenya what it is now. We say Asante sana!
We acknowledge and give our most sincere appreciation to our audience across the country, the poetry community, the fans; for purchasing tickets, attending events, buying albums and merchandise, encouraging us to do more; we are because of you! Asanteni Sana!
Happy World Poetry Day to you!!
An open invitation to all poets, page and performing, to all writers and to all the artists we partner with in all our various showcases.
Tomorrow, 21st March 2023, we celebrate World Poetry Day in our own special way. We indulge in conversation on our different journeys in the world of poetry, share our work through an Open Mic session and network with the different artists in our City.
World Poetry Day is celebrated on 21 March, and was declared by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999, "with the aim of supporting linguistic diversity through poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages to be heard"
Its purpose is to promote the reading, writing, publishing, and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the original UNESCO declaration says, to "give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional, and international poetry movements".
Always be a Poet, even in prose.
Arguably one of the best shows we've ever curated, our 92nd Edition was not just your regular event, it was a spiritual experience.
Every artist the stepped up to the plate came swinging and they hit hard. From the musical worship to the poetic worship, none of them came to play, they came ready for war; and Worship was their War-ship!
Special appreciation to every artist that made this edition a beautiful experience!
These are scenes from The Gospel According To Poets, dutifully captured by Ticket Baze's very own Jose Mras.

We celebrate our very own Justus aka Tweet Master , our long serving Social media manager in recently tying the knot with the beautiful Miss Ziana (now Mrs.)!!πππ
Of course Gufy. & Uba continue to claim recognition in the role played at the beginning of this relationship, but who cares about those two very single humans? π
The whole Upgrade Poetry Community wishes the both of you a beautiful life ahead, all the love in the world and are proud of you as you begin this new chapter of your lives.
May the good Lord bless your union!
