Today is World Rangers Day!

We recognize a pivotal & incredible role played by our rangers to protect our faunal & floral biodiversity especially the Nyekweri forest a unique ecosystem for endangered & endemic species which is also an Important Bird Area (IBA).

Rangers are custodians, researchers, wildlife security officers, father's/mothers who protect the mother Earth and we continue to applaud their efforts in protecting, preserving & conserving key biodiversity for healthy ecosystems.

Happy World Rangers Day!

We conclude a 2 day's training on honey production in our conservancy that targets small beekepers and we had groups ranging from Enkereri Women group, Nyekweri Oloirien Women group, Nyekweri Kimintet beekeeping committee and Oloisukut conservancy women group trained on
on sustainable beekeeping-Cleaning of hives to enhance colonization, Problem of bee colonization, Principal of a Community honey collection center, seasonality of honey production in Nyekweri ecological zones and the dynamics of climate change in relation to beekeeping production and other challenges and packaging of honey as well as marketing.

We really appreciate the efforts of Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association through support of the IMARA grant to strengthen honey production within the Trans-Mara Conservation Area which goes along in improving many livelihoods in this ecological zones.

We are partnering with the Pangolin Project here in Maasai Mara, Kenya to preserve, protect the last remaining part of Nyekweri forest,a remnant of the Congolese equitorial forest thanks to Basecamp Explorer Foundation-Kenya for the immense support.

To this far more than 2,000 Acres have been secured.
We have also partnered with Africa Foundation on an effort to restore the degraded Nyekweri forest and currently we have about 13,000 native indigenous tree seedlings geared towards the restoration.

The use of innovative technology is vital in enhancing research since it enables the efficient tracking, monitoring and tracing wildlife with the aim of better protecting wildlife species and conserving their habitats.
The theme for this years’ World Wildlife Day “Connecting People & Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation” calls for the use of innovative digital solutions in safeguarding and preserving the worlds fauna and flora to ensure the that our ecosystems are healthy and biodiversity is thriving.

We have commemorated this day by planting trees in one of our Landowners parcel within the Conservancy.
