Did you know that we have a little playground at the back of our guesthouse?
This is the result of Covid, when we had to make our own little school for kids of our staff and Tuk Tuk drivers, as schools were shut down all over the country.
At the most we had 25 kids in two of the rooms, plus we made two outdoor areas for them to run around. This was one of them.
It was crazy times for us, but so many grateful parents and HAPPY kids! We all really needed this!
We survived Covid, and we are a busy guesthouse again. So now the play areas are used for families who stay here.

Our favourite part of running Babel Guesthouse is to run programs for groups like this one. That way we can make sure they visit the right places - projects who focus on the local community!
Of course, there is majestic Angkor Wat. But there is so much more to see and do in this city than “just” the temples.
This group from Sagavoll Folkehøgskole visited APOPO Visitor Center - the hero rats, to learn all about their important job detecting landmines. With a long history of war, APOPOs job clearing landmines and making it safe for the Cambodian people is very important!
Of course a visit to Phare, The Cambodian Circus - Siem Reap is a must!
This group had was very sporty, with so much energy. They loved the Wake Park Cambodia, and spend a long lovely day out there.
All groups of young students tend to LOVE just hanging out at Babel, which gives such good vibes!
We always make sure to have presentations for them about Responsible Tourism, and what we do here at Babel to fight plastic pollution.
We also send send this group to an island down south of Cambodia, where they did boat trips, beach clean ups and jungle walks.
