On May 5th, TDSO held a parent-teacher meetup, prioritizing key elements essential for enriching student learning quality at our practice school.

During the meeting, we talked about a few important things:
- Progress Review: We shared what we've achieved and talked about our plans for the next semester. This helps parents know how the school is doing and where they can help.
- New Regulatory Guidelines: We explained some new rules to make sure all students have a fair and equal chance to learn well.
- Enhancing Parental Engagement: We talked about how important it is for parents to be involved in their child's education. Research shows that kids do better when their parents are involved.
- Quality Management: We discussed ways to keep our teaching quality high so that students get the best education possible.

Overall, parents showed they care about their kids' education, which will help make the next semester even better. Their involvement and commitment are important for making sure students at TDSO have a great learning experience.

It's not solely about the training of teachers; rather, it's about cultivating an ecosystem where teachers can thrive, develop, and receive ample support.

In alignment with this vision, TDSO - Teacher Development Support Organization, in partnership with Aide et Action SEA-Cambodia, recently conducted a mid-course evaluation for the English for Public Primary School Teachers Program (Cohort 2). Held at Kravan Primary School on March 12, 2024, the workshop garnered a remarkable turnout of 73 participants. Among them are the Deputy Chiefs of Prasat Bakong and Pouk Districts, District Youth and Sports Office representatives, principals from 49 targeted schools, EPST trainee representatives, and our partner, Kampuchea Action to Promote Education.

The workshop achieved remarkable success by addressing pivotal topics, including the assessment of achievements and challenges, with a strong emphasis on the necessity of collaborative efforts among stakeholders. Additionally, it introduced an innovative framework tailored for grades 4-6 and outlined Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities specifically tailored for TDSO alumni engaged in EPST programs.

Local authorities voiced their unequivocal support for the expansion of the project, highlighting the imperative of reaching more community schools and teachers.

The Reflection Workshop provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of information, collaboration, and strategic planning, bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise to enhance the potential impact of the EPST project on English education in public schools.

TDSO is honored to play a pivotal role in this initiative and eagerly awaits its continued success.

๐Ÿ“ข Attention English Teachers and NGOs

We have some concerning news to share. Grammarly, the indispensable tool for perfecting English writing, may no longer be accessible for free to non-profit organisations like ours.

We believe that access to quality writing assistance is crucial for educators and NGOs to fulfil their missions effectively. That's why we're urging Grammarly to reconsider and keep their services free for non-profit organisations.

It was a great privilege to be invited to the monthly cluster school meetings at Bakong and Wat Roka primary schools in Prasat Bakong District. The meeting aimed to identify strengths and room for improvement in instructional practices (through a mock teaching performance across different subjects).

The TDSO team had a chance to observe two trainees from cohort 2 of our English for Public School Teachers (EPST2), namely Mr. Voeun Chea and Mrs. Choeum Ravy.

We were thrilled to see the great attempts or efforts of the two teachers to implement what has been trained, basically Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), with the use of games, inquiry-based learning, and the ESA model. The teaching scenarios and the remarks were, to a large extent, inspiring to the stakeholders, particularly school principals and non-EPST teachers.

We do appreciate the care of the individual stakeholders for quality education in their community. We canโ€™t thank the chief of the Prasat Bakong District Office of Education enough for involving us in such a valuable event. We are always ready for further cooperation.

Transforming Education: A Tale of Triumph in TDSO - Teacher Development Support Organization and Aide et Action SEA-Cambodia Partnership

Delighted to share the inspiring success story of the collaborative initiative between TDSO and AEA, aimed at empowering educators through a pioneering pilot project. Together, we've provided comprehensive training in English language acquisition, essential pedagogical skills, and low-threshold Ed-tech applications.

The impact has been profound, significantly elevating the standard of education for primary school students. The inaugural cohort, comprising 47 teachers across 4 districts in Siem Reap Province, has witnessed remarkable transformations. Building on this success, our program now extends its reach to 64 teachers in Puok and Bakong, with an additional 64 set to commence their journey in April 2024.

The resounding positive feedback from stakeholders underscores the efficacy of our collaborative efforts. We're proud to be catalysts of change, working hand in hand to shape a brighter future for education.
