In honor of Buddha's Birthday (May 27), the Lotus Lantern Festival 2023 will take place on May 20 to 21 in downtown Seoul.

Colorful lanterns have been strung up around the city in anticipation of the event and then over 100,000 more lanterns will be lit and paraded down the main streets of the capital.

It is one of the greatest days to celebrate in Korea and it is called Yeondeunghoe (연등회) which is designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity because of its outstanding universal value.

Enjoy the event whether you are a Buddhist or not. 🥳🥰
