Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice
Founded in 1989, KICJ is the only national crime and criminal justice research institute in Korea.
From May 25-30, KICJ, led by President Ha Tae-hoon, visited legal institutions in Shenyang and Changchun to strengthen international cooperation. Highlights included keynote speeches at Liaoning and Jilin Universities, discussing Korean criminal legislation and anti-corruption efforts. This visit marked an important step in building collaborative ties for future legal research and policy development. Stay tuned for more updates!
🌍✨ KICJ attended the 33rd Session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Vienna, Austria. Our focus was on enhancing international cooperation and technical assistance to tackle global issues such as organized crime, corruption, and terrorism. 🌐🔍
On May 14, during thematic discussions, Dr. Park, Vice President of KICJ, emphasized the critical need to address emerging crimes in the digital age and showcased KICJ’s initiatives to advance criminal justice technologies. 🖥️💡
Additionally, KICJ proudly co-hosted a side event on "Meeting the Challenges and Opportunities of the Digital Age in the Criminal Justice Sector," marking 20 years since joining the PNI. The event set the stage for the upcoming 15th Crime Congress and featured panelists from UNICRI, the NIJ, and the Korean National Police Agency. 🤝🚓
