Analogue missions are important to understand real human space missions, and arts should have a role in analogue missions. Dr. Agata Kolodziejczyk, the founder of the Analogue Astronaut Training Center (AATC) has built two analogue habitats facilities and currently building the third. In the talk, Dr. Agata will describe the importance of Arts in Analogue missions. However, and more exciting, we will announce an opportunity for Kuwaiti and Arab Artists to contribute on analogue missions. Ghanim Alotaibi will start the talk by an introduction about his experience as an analogue astronaut at the AATC.

نجيب محفوظ

نجيب محفوظ مؤلف وكاتب روائي عربي، له العديد من الروايات المشهورة والمترجمة إلى عدة لغات. وهو العربي الوحيد الذي فاز بجائزة نوبل للآداب.

وُلد نجيب محفوظ في مدينة القاهرة في 11 كانون الأول/ ديسمبر عام 1911، حيث ترعرع وتلقى تعليمه الجامعي في جامعتها، فتمكن من نيل شهادة في الفلسفة. ألف محفوظ على مدار حياته الكثير من الأعمال الأدبية، وفي مقدمتها ثلاثيته الشهيرة و”أولاد حارتنا”.
تدور معظم أحداث رواياته في الحارة المصرية الشعبية، ورغم واقعية أدب نجيب محفوظ، لكنّه تناول قضايا وجودية أيضًا.

شهد نجيب محفوظ ثورة 1919 وكان عمره سبعة أعوام فقط. وكان لهذه الثورة تأثيرٌ كبيرٌ عليه حيث أنه خاض تجربته الأولى من المشاعر الوطنية والقومية، وقد أثرت بعمقٍ في كتاباته لاحقًا.

طعن نجيب محفوظ في عنقه على يد متطرف في عام 1994 في محاولةٍ لاغتياله. نجا نجيب من هذه المحاولة ولكن أعصابه على الطرف الأيمن العلوي من الرقبة قد تضررت بشدة إثر هذه الطعنة.
كان لهذا تأثيرٌ سلبي على عمله حيث أنه لم يكن قادرًا على الكتابة سوى لبضع دقائق يوميًا. توفي نجيب محفوظ في 30 آب/ أغسطس عام 2006 م في القاهرة، وكان عمره 94 عامًا.
