Hey! Our new term starts Monday February 11th. We have classes for: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper-intermediate learners.

We'll be using the Global English textbooks which are fantastic. They're interesting with lots of really fun activities.

New General English classes will be starting at the LEAD program Monday, February 11th.

We will have several levels including: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate.

Each level will consist of 45 hours of class time.

Monday-Wednesday-Friday 1.5 hours from 5:00 - 6:30 pm and Tuesday - Thursday 2 1/4 hours from 5:00 - 7:15 pm

We will be using the Global English textbooks from Macmillan publishing. They are excellent books, clear, and interesting with each unit covering grammar, vocabulary, reading, speaking, listening and writing. They are sure to keep students engaged.

Our class sizes are small so teachers are able to give lots of individual attention to our learners. Our teachers are also native English speakers with easy to understand neutral accents.

On top of our low tuition we also offer group discounts! So bring your friends and come learn with us.

We here at the LEAD Program put the "fun" back in fundamental! It's how we teach.

Our Story

The LEaD English Programs have been developed for students who want a different kind of learning experience. The emphasis is on learning, not teaching. The emphasis is on students being in charge of their own learning with the teacher having the role of mentor. The goal is to have the students engaged in a self-managed learning atmosphere with the teacher acting more as a guide than a lecturer. Research has clearly shown this method of teaching helps develop skills more effectively and efficiently. Students achieve what they need and want, not merely skills that are part of some universal program which actually fit no-one's needs perfectly, or for many not even closely.

The approach used is designed by Dr Graham Rawlinson, who has
known Guy Claxton from Building Learning Power for many years.

Graham and Rita Carter have shared thinking about minds and learning for many years.
Graham spent many years working as an educational psychologist in England and Australia. He began his career as an Innovator in Education when he wrote TV Programs called Make it Count in 1976. He also co-wrote the Maths Workbooks with a lecturer in Mathematics at Nottingham University. These books were sold around the world for more than 20 years.

Graham also was Director of Enterprise at the University of Surrey in England and was an Innovation Consultant for Synectics Europe (now Synectics World), working with both large and small companies around the world, such as Coca-Cola and Hewlett Packard.

Self managed learning gets away from the idea that the teacher feeds the student with knowledge. It is better that the student takes responsibility for understanding what they need to learn and works to achieve the goals they set for themselves, with the guidance of the teacher of course.
