We're thrilled to announce that 20 additional women have joined our culinary skills women empowerment program in Saida! During our general assembly, we were very excited welcomed and get to know all our new beneficiaries. This project is part of our Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) grant in partnership with جمعية المواساة في صيدا.

Exciting new project in action! 🐝

In Jezzine, Alissar will be supporting 24 women in gaining the skills needed on the art of beekeeping and honey production. These women will receive intensive training on essential knowledge and practices, additionally, the women will be provided with a beekeeping suit, equipments, and a beehive. Our aim under this project is to create a “ Ruche communautaire” where by women would meet to learn and practice their skills
to increase coordination and knowledge sharing between beekeepers and honey producers in the country. 🍯 🇱🇧

This project is funded by Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and implemented by our local partner, Droubna & SOILS Permaculture Association Lebanon, along with our international partner, Apiflordev. 🌍

Our Cycle 1 is almost complete! 🎉 Twenty inspiring women have finished the three-month training in culinary skills and social entrepreneurship. These women will now join the cash-for-work program, enabling them to work in the sector or start their own revenue-generating initiatives in catering or agro-food production.

This project consists of two cycles, with Cycle 2 starting later this year in October. The project is implemented in collaboration with جمعية المواساة في صيدا and funded by

Since early April, 20 inspiring women in Akkar have received in-depth training on culinary techniques and kitchen health regulations. They now feel empowered to start their own journey! 🎉 Whether seeking employment opportunities or continuing their own revenue-generating initiatives in agro-food production or catering, these women are ready to shine. 🌟 this project is implemented in partnership with Stand For Women through a generous grant from La Guilde

Alissar is proud to announce that Lebanese Minister of Environment, , visited our local partner جمعية فكر وإنسان Association.” Welcomed by the association members, the president, Dr. Hassan Hijazi, briefed the minister on the association’s history, projects, and future vision.

The minister also learned about the ongoing project in Tyre district, between Alissar, feker wa Insan & Beyond Plastic Med - BeMed , focusing on the 3 R’s and reducing plastic pollution in the sea.

During his tour of the solid waste treatment center, Dr. Yassin shared ideas for development and expressed admiration for the environmental efforts.

❇️ Près de la frontière syrienne, dans une zone rurale au relief accidenté, nous contribuons à rapprocher plusieurs dizaines de Libanaises des réalités du commerce de voisinage. La formation et l’aide à l’entrepreneuriat pour une meilleure autonomisation.

Lauréate de l’appel à projets AFD - Agence Française de Développement / La Guilde du printemps 2023, Alissar est à l’œuvre avec la Fondation Agir sa vie et l’organisation Stand For Women.

Exciting times at Alissar! 🌟 We recently attended a dynamic two-day event by at the University Saint Joseph. The focus was on promoting social entrepreneurship enterprises that have thrived under an initiative by Oxfam & COSV NGO . 🚀

The highlight? The launch of the Seen platform, a hub featuring over 80 social enterprises shaping diverse sectors in Lebanon. 🌍 Alissar, a strong advocate of social entrepreneurship tools, seized the opportunity to connect with initiative representatives and explore the thriving industries in the country.

We firmly believe in the power of social entrepreneurship to uplift the most vulnerable communities, fostering a more social and solidarity-based economy in Lebanon. 🤝 Let's continue working together for positive change!

[One week - one project]
The "Actions to preserve the environment of Lebanon's southern coast" project led by Alissar combines the environmental and social aspects by developing solidarity and mutual aid. The main activities to implement a sustainable 3Rs system in the city of Tyr in Lebanon are the following:
💡 Organizing awareness sessions in 35 schools, 3 municipalities and 15 large local tourism companies on the coast of Tyr to encourage waste management and emphasize the importance of the 3Rs.
📅 Sharing the plastic and waste collection schedule within the community to prepare for it.
♻ Placing 100 recycling bins in different schools and local tourist sites so that the organization can easily collect the waste with its van.
🏖 Organize a beach clean-up campaign every three months to collect solid waste and sort it in front of the public and inform them about the 3Rs mechanism.
🏆 Create challenges with prizes in schools to encourage waste management and plastic collection.
🤝 Maintaining 48 recycling booths along the Corniche of Tyr, once a week for 12 months. Residents will be able to exchange their solid waste for food or medicine vouchers.
