MEADOWS SOS BIODIVERSITY!
Salon des Beaux Arts – 12-15 December 2019

This is the call to action that our group installation, involving 46 artists from 31 different countries, sent from the Carrousel Du Louvre in December 2019.

“Biodiversity is our heritage and our salvation. Protecting it and conserving it for ourselves and for posterity is our duty. The diversities of Nature expressed in so many different paintings from just as many different environments are here united in a single installation."

Many papers suggest a correlation between "habitat fragmentation, biodiversity loss and the risk of novel infectious disease emergence" (Wilkinson et al., 2018). This issue has been our concern in the past, and is still a concern today in this health and social emergency that apparently does not want to end. Now more than ever we need to acknowledge the wealth our humanity holds and cherish it.

"The work I have exhibited is entitled 'Loss' and is part of a cycle focused on the last few years, dedicated to the victims of war and political violence. In this time, the Loss is related to the victims of pandemic. Even if, unfortunately, the most affected are still the United States statistically, the number in Macedonia of over 2000 patients and 140 victims is quite worrying, given that our country is small in terms of population number" said Pandora Apostolovska Sazdovska

"Experimenting and finding new interesting media through I could convey my idea is the key to the progress of any author in terms of art, and I've always been interested in merging non-typical materials that can be artistically composed into a new aesthetic whole. Especially in case like this where different artists from around the world give their artwork to a protective mask to raise awareness about our joint fight against the virus that has changed the way we all function on a daily basis" said Saso Sazdovki
