Our Story
Our story started in November 2011, when Karim Sokhn, a passionate cyclist, came up with the idea to organize with his fellow cyclists a night ride in Beirut to discover the city by bicycle. This experience soon developed to become a weekly outing and later on day rides were organized on weekend basis, thus the birth of a touring company named CyclingCircle in July 2012.
CyclingCircle’s main focus was to introduce locals and foreigners to Lebanon’s historical and natural attractions by bicycle. Touristic and recreational rides were organized from North to South every week, attracting approximately 15.000 riders between 2012 and 2018.
In 2014, CyclingCircle launched Deghri Messengers, Lebanon’s first bike messenger service that delivered light parcels in Beirut. Deghri Messengers was a turning point that marked both the cycling field and the mobility and transport sector: people were more eager to interact with bicycles and bicyclists, and private deliver companies jumped to invest in e-bikes. Unfortunately, Deghri Messengers had to cease its services in May 2017 as it was struggling with human resources and business opportunities.
Its founder Karim Sokhn promised that whenever the market will be ready, he will re-launch the service and make it better and sustainable.
