How do memory and heritage manifest in the body? In the first residency of the project "Un|controlled Gestures - 3rd Edition", six choreographers from the region came together to decipher the traces of the past in their own dance and movements. Moving through Cairo, exchanging with mentors, artists and curators, and investigating their own experiences, each developed a research questioning the formation of movement tradition and identity. 📆During an evening of work-in-progress performances on February 14th, they shared their research with the public. 🎉We are excited to welcome the project to Berlin for a second and final residency. Discover the work of Marianne Salamany and 𝗕𝘁𝗮𝟯𝗿𝗳𝗼 𝗘-𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮?, the performance she developed during ArtEvolution, a project of the Goethe-Institut Libanon, supported by the Auswärtiges Amt. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 in an artistic event. The only link between them: 𝗔 𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗲. A vase that 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 are accused of the so-called crime 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is opened. Each character has its own story, his own psychological, and social problems, which we discover in the investigation room.
