my friend yesterday and by pure chance I learnt that you had these 2 pieces custom made for you to be wearing as protection when you’re on the ground covering stories from a risk zone. You never picked them up cause you were on a mission in the south of Lebanon and a targeted missile from an Israeli warplane left you dead and injured the other reporters and journalists. I felt a sudden rush of emptiness and a dry throat from just thinking that you could’ve been somewhere else enjoying life as you should. May your soul Rest In Peace and May it always be free

what can I say that I can’t even fathom. What can I describe YOU with that I haven’t thought of yet. What FORCE drives you woman. What resistance keeps you hanging on. What fight brings you to the ring every morning. What ENERGY are you made of. I look up at you and WONDER how did this mother make it through all these years and kept creating and recreating ways to AIM at simplifying life to make it bearable and I wonder if I’ll be able to match you in doing so. I always keep thinking of how do WOMEN your age survive what’s happening now in your LIFE on oh so many levels and still think you’re made out of STEEL. You don’t bend you don’t twist yet sometimes you break and you come back with a scar and carry it with a SMILE. I learnt how to do that. I look up at you and think of all the ways you FOUGHT to bring up 4 children during the war time and even more to CARE for them after the war. you always have STORIES to share to make life more bearable and sometimes unbearable. I love BEING around you. I love dying your hair with that furry color. I love your spirit. I love you loving everyone you meet, my father, us, our friends and even random people that you share their stories with us. I love your background and coming from from the north of and how PROUD you are of your mother who brought you up as a single mom cause your dad was shot dead while you were younger than remembering him. I love the stories of MYSTICISM and life after death and I love when you remember things out of the blue. Out of you. I love how you treat people@with KINDNESS. I love how your smile never varies even though in photos you always pose CLASSICALLY. I can’t stop writing but I will to say I SIMPLY LOVE YOU MY SOUL FIRE AND ALWAYS WILL. 💛
