It is with deep sadness and profound regret to learn of the sudden passing of former Lubeco General Manager, Ms. Monica Joseph. Monica came to Lubeco very early in her career, during the company's transitional period with a change of ownership, management, and corporate restructuring. Her goal was twofold, to lead a young, inexperienced, team in planning a new course for Lubeco and to learn the fundamentals of management so to one day own her own business.
Monica was a pioneer in many ways, the first Saint Lucian manager of Lubeco, the face of the company, one of few women to occupy a senior management role on island. Her youth was never to her disadvantage but to her strength, and through her hard work and perseverance, she ‘opened’ doors for many other women in Lubeco and in Saint Lucia. With over a decade at the helm, Monica left Lubeco to fulfill her passion and dream of being a business owner.
We fondly remember Monica for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and warm smile. Her years of dedicated, loyal, service leading the company through trying times. Even after leaving, Monica remained in close contact with Lubeco employees, both past and present, as well as owners. On behalf of the Allain family, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to family and relatives of Monica. May you rest in external peace.
