What is Biophilic Architecture you may ask?

"Biophilic design is the deliberate attempt to translate an understanding of the inherent human affinity to affiliate with natural systems and processes—known as biophilia—into the design of the built environment.”

Biophilic design is an approach to architecture that seeks to connect building occupants more closely to nature. Biophilic designed buildings incorporate things like natural lighting and ventilation, natural landscape features and other elements for creating a more productive and healthy built environment for people.

Biophilia is more than just a philosophy—biophilic design has been found to support cognitive function, physical health, and psychological well-being.

This is a simple example of how many of our local "ruins" can be out to use without demolition or even large scale restoration.
