THEME: DIGITAL SKILLS FOR LIFE
TOPIC: Social Media Management and the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Universal Service Fund Office (USFO) under the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) will join the International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) global initiative of Girls in ICT Day to raise awareness and spark the interest of girls and young women in ICT throughout Saint Lucia.
The USFO is currently in its eighth (8) year with this initiative and have impacted over one hundred and fifty (150) girls and young women throughout the years. To commemorate the day, the USFO will host two one-day workshops on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th April 2023 in Vieux Fort and Castries respectively, to encourage digital inclusion and competence amongst girls and young women.
Social media has impacted the way companies do business and interact with their audiences. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in social media provides insights no human or group of humans could ever achieve. There are many AI tools on the market that help with social media management, content creation, analysis, advertisements, and much more.
Our target group this year consists of approximately forty (40) young women preparing to enter the job market from the following institutions: - National Skills and Development Centre (NSDC), Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), Rotaract Club St. Lucia and the New Beginnings Transit Home St. Lucia.
We look forward to another successful year!
