We wish all the adventures women out there on this International women’s day!!! Adventure SEALs and Petzl proudly highlights (Jay) Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala for her contribution as a women’s advocate in Sri Lanka and the first Sri Lankan women to summit Mount Everest. Kuru-Utumpala reached the summit of Mount Everest at 5:03 AM on 21 May 2016. Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala's summit makes Sri Lanka the fourth country in the world, in which a woman has been the first person to reach the top of Mount Everest. The other countries are Poland, South Africa and Croatia.

This Independent Day, Lets take a pledge to protect the peace and unity of our great nation.

Sri Lanka’s “Everest Stars” - Johann Peries and Jayanthi
Kuru-Utumpala - set off on their next big adventure on Thu 31st January 2019.

This time they are off to the Argentinian Andes to climb the 6,962 metre Mount Aconcagua - which is the tallest mountain in the world outside of the Himalayas.

Their mission is to complete 'The Seven Summits Challenge' - which is to summit the highest mountains in each of the seven continents of the world.

They’ve summited two of the seven mountains already –
Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa (2014) and
Mt. Everest in Asia (2016 & 2018).

The Argentinian snow-capped Mount Aconcagua is the highest in the South American continent and the 3rd peak they will undertake as part of this challenge. The duo have also selected the more challenging technical route along the Polish Glacier to attempt the summit.
