Hey, my friends, it's Melissa, and we had an amazing Challenge Day 1: The Big MindShift! Yesterday, we talked about why exercise journeys fail: that it all starts with a limiting belief that many of us hold onto - the idea that our past determines our future.
Another reason exercise journeys fail is that we often try to go back to what we were before, instead of setting a strong goal for where we want to be. And without a strong feedback loop to monitor our progress, it's easy to get discouraged and give up.
To further understand why we struggle with exercise, is that we don't have a celebration or support system in place. We need to celebrate our wins, no matter how small, and surround ourselves with people who will lift us up and encourage us to keep going.
But perhaps the biggest reason we fail is the myriad of subconscious "fitness blocksβ we have; the messages we received from our parents, peers, and the media that shape our beliefs about our bodies and what we're capable of. Remember, this is an important part of your "heartworkβ that will help hit the reset button on your view of health and fitness giving you a clean slate to a successful journey.
Remember, a win is a win everywhere. When we experience success in one area of our lives, we can use that energy to propel us forward in others. So, let's focus on tuning in to the energy of "win" today and using it to fuel our exercise journey.
