Trusted by millions of the business community and the general public, SLT RAINBOW PAGES is Sri Lanka’s only national business directory published by SLT Digital Services (Pvt) Ltd, the publishing arm of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLT).
The telephone directory is published and distributed primarily to all SLT subscribers including government organizations, business organizations, religious institutions, residential customers, etc. The word ‘directory’ has been very synonymous with Sri Lanka Telecom since it is the only publisher of telephone directories in Sri Lanka since 1939. Formerly, publication of telephone directories was carried out by a separate department of SLT. However, from 1983 to 2000, publication of telephone directories was outsourced to a third party, but in the year 2001, it was brought back to SLT. Then the telephone directory was branded as SLTRAINBOW PAGES and the first SLT RAINBOW PAGES Directory was published in the year 2002.In the year 2008, publication of the telephone directory was brought under the purview of a separate organization viz. SLT Publications (Pvt) Ltd, merely established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of SLT to undertake this task for providing a much better service.
Over the long span of decades, the directory has seen greater improvements especially in terms of information and accessibility. In addition to the print version of the directory, a wide range of digital directory products such as Web, Mobile App, Directory CD, and e-Book, has in keeping with the fastest-growing information & communication technology, been developed to address the evolving needs of people and help the advertisers of the directory grow their business by leaps and bounds. Through these digital products, SLT RAINBOW PAGES reaches out to millions of people not only across the island but also across frontiers and access to the directory information has been broadened yet simplified unprecedentedly.
