NIBM

The Psychology Society of NIC recently held our CSR project 'Prana' which was aimed at providing urgent supplies and other dry rations to two care facilities. Namely 'Anandapura' home for disabled adults and 'St. Anne's' children's home in Katana. The generosity of NIC lecturers and staff, NIC students and well wishers made it possible to donate several months worth of medicine for both homes, two wheelchairs, a rollator, dry rations, cleaning products, food and other essentials to these homes. The students spent half a day each at both the locations, singling, dancing talking and bonding with the people at both homes and spent a day putting smiles on their faces.

NIBM School of Business is now all set to commence its first Advanced Diploma in Event Management and Experiential Design program. To make this a milestone and to create awareness among potential students School of Business has organized a colourful launching ceremony in a successful manner.

The official inauguration ceremony -- Esparanza 2023 -- was held at NIBM School of Business on 9th December 2023 with the presence of our esteemed guests, School of Business faculty, Program Office staff and new students.

The Director, School of Business, Mr Kolitha Ranawaka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr Manuja Kariyapperuma, The Director General of BMICH attended as the Distinguished Guest of the event. The event has also made a significant remark by inviting several leading local event industry professionals: These special invitees included: Mr Prabuddha Seneviratne, Head of Banquet Sales, The Kingsbury Hotel and Ms Barbara Fischer, Adviser Admin and Finance GIZ Colombo.

The inauguration ceremony consisted with two segments, where the official launch of the program and the event management pathway reveal and then an exciting networking session with the special invitees and faculty. With our new Advanced Diploma students can now begin their Event Management academic pathway starting from Advanced Certificate in Event Management lead up to Advanced Diploma level.

The event Esparanza was organized by Advanced Certificate in Event Management (ACEM) 23.1 PT batch as their final project in their ACEM program. The event was a success all thanks to the guidance and constant support by The Director, School of Business and Marketing Academic Unit. Team Esparanza made a noteworthy effort to make the event successful and a memorable one to the attendees.

We encourage our community to keep our beautiful motherland clean to foster a sustainable and ecofriendly environment.

We celebrated the grand first Inauguration Ceremony of the Queensland University of Technology Bachelor of Communication Degree batch November Intake of the Computing Faculty on the 8th of December 2023 at NIBM Colombo 07.

The inaugural welcome ceremony of the students of the pathway programs to Queensland University of Technology of Australia was held in the presence of Dr. D. M. A. The students of BSc Hons Ethical Hacking and Network Security of the School of Computing and Engineering participated in a field visit organized under the industrial training module. Dialog Axiata Sri Lanka facilitated this field visit to their data center. This field visit helped students gain exposure to the industry environment whilst strengthening their knowledge in the field of network engineering.
