World Population Day 2022
• From the year 2011 to the year 2022, there are about 7.8 billion people living in the earth, which will increase to 8 billion this year, which will undoubtedly lead to a new discourse on world population.

History of World Population Day
• World Population Day was established in 1989 by the Governing Body of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
• On July 11, 1987, the population crossed the 5 billion mark and the interest of the people to celebrate it has led to naming the World Population Day.
• By resolution 45/216 of December 1990, the United Nations General Assembly decided to celebrate World Population Day on July 11 every year to raise awareness of population issues, including the relationship with environment and development.

Theme of World Population Day 2022
• The theme of this year's World Population Day is to celebrate the world's population crossing the 8 billion mark.
• The world has been able to reduce infant and maternal mortality with the development of the health sector and the United Nations has announced a calculation in 2019 that the life expectancy of a person is about 72.6 years.
• Additional facts: According to calculations made by the World Bank in 2019, the life expectancy of a Sri Lankan has been calculated as 76.98 years.
• According to the United Nations, human life expectancy has doubled in the past 200 years.
• Under this year's theme, equality, gender, racism, climate change, violence, discrimination are also ready to be discussed.

• 2011 වර්ෂයේ සිට 2022 වර්ෂය වන විට පෘතුවිය තුල ජනතාව බිලියන 7.8ක් පමණ වාසය කරමින් සිටී එය මේ වසරේ බිලියන 8 දක්වා වැඩිවනු ඇති අතර එමගින් ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණය පිලිබද නව කතිකාවතක් ඇතිවන බව නොඅනුමානයි.

ලෝක ජනනග්‍රහණ දිනය පිලිබඳ ඉතිහාසය
• 1989දී එක්සත් ජාතින්ගේ සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහනේ පාලක සභාව (UNDP) විසින් ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණ දිනය පිහිටුවන ලදි.
• 1987 ජූලී 11 දිනට ජනග්‍රහණය බිලියන 5 සීමාව පසු කල අතර එය සැමරීම සදහා ජනතාව තුල තිබූ උනන්දුව ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණ දිනය නම් කිරීමට හේතු වී තිබේ.
• 1990 දෙසැම්බර් මස 45/216 දරණ යෝජනාව මගින් එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මහා මණ්ඩලය විසින් පරිසර හා සංවර්ධනය සමග ඇති සබදතා ඇතුලු ජනගහණ ගැටලු පිලිබඳ දැනුවත්භාවය වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සදහා ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණ දිනය අඛණ්ඩව සෑම වර්ෂයකම ජූලි මස 11 වන දින සැමරීමට තීරණය කලේය.

2022 ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණ දිනයේ තේමාව
• මෙවර ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණ දිනයේ තේමාව වී ඇත්තෙ ලෝක ජනග්‍රහණය බිලියන 8 සිමාව පසු කිරීම සැමරීමයි.
• සෞඛ්‍යය ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ දියුණුව සමග එන්නත් කරනය මගින් ලමා හා මාතෘ මරණ අඩු කිරීමට ලෝකය සමත්ව ඇත එමෙන්ම පුද්ගලයෙකුගෙ ආයූ අපේක්ශාව අවුරුදු 72.6ක් පමණ වන බව එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානය මගින් 2019 වර්ෂයේදී කල ගණනයකින් ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කර ඇත.
• අමතර කරුණු : 2019 ලෝක බැංකුව මගින් කරන ලද ගණනයන්ට අනුව ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයෙකුගේ ආයූ අපේක්ශාව අවුරුදු 76.98 ලෙස ගණනය කර ඇත.
• එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානය පවසන ආකාරයට ගතවූ වසර 200ක කාලය තුල මිනිසාගේ ආයූ අපේක්ශාව දෙගුණයකින් වැඩිකරගෙන ඇත.

• உலக சுகாதாரத் துறையின் வளர்ச்சியால் குழந்தை மற்றும் மகப்பேறு இறப்பைக் குறைக்க முடிந்தது, மற்றும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை 2019 இல் ஒரு நபரின் ஆயுட்காலம் சுமார் 72.6 ஆண்டுகள் என்று ஒரு கணக்கீட்டை அறிவித்துள்ளது.
