Sharing food and caring for one another are integral aspects of our identity, and our 'Share a meal, Share a moment' initiative reflects this purpose. Wrapping up the 10th phase of our flagship sustainability project, we marked the season's spirit by donating hampers with essential items to communities in Lunawa and Balagala Road.

The 'Share a meal, Share a moment' initiative has impacted over 43,000 lives to date. Across the ten phases, we've contributed over 26,000 meals and distributed 4,000 hampers. We take pride in our achieved impact while recognizing the journey ahead.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to Alliance Development Trust (ADT), our delivery partner, and all Sysco LABS colleagues who volunteered their time and generous spirit over the 10 phases. Their support, both monetarily and through their presence, has been crucial to the success of this initiative.

Meet our LABSter Savani, who’s a Project Manager in the Digital Commerce, Commercial Technology and Data Platforms business unit at Sysco LABS. She works on Digital Commerce and Customer Solutions focused on Sysco’s flagship e-commerce platform, Sysco Shop.

Savani’s team is dedicated to enhancing the customer experiences of Sysco Shop Web and Mobile applications through integrating personalized and innovative digital tools. On a daily basis, she collaborates with Business and Engineering teams across Sri Lanka, US and Canada representing/leading the deliveries from Shop in addition to managing and mitigating project risks/issues to minimize impact on program goals and timelines while keeping the program objectives aligned with Sysco growth strategies.

When she’s not managing projects for Sysco LABS, Savani explores her passion for fashion design and creating ethnic clothing, in addition to travelling, dancing and baking.

The Sysco LABS Swimming team made a splash at their first-ever Mercantile Swimming tournament!

Notable mentions include Gihan Samarasinghe's superb performance, earning him 1st place in the 25M Breaststroke and 2nd place in both the 25M Backstroke and 25M Butterfly in his age group championship category.

Sujani Wijayawickrama also showed her prowess in her age group novices category, clinching 1st place for the 25M Freestyle. Gimhani Hettiarachchi showcased her skills with a 3rd place finish in the 25M Backstroke in her age group novices category while Eraj Abeyawardene secured 3rd place in the 25M Butterfly in his age group novices category.

Meet our LABSter Achintha, who’s a Software Engineer in the Enterprise Architecture Group (EAG) at Sysco LABS. EAG focuses on Architecture and Engineering, Delivery Excellence, Technology Marketing, Technology Training, and R&D. Achintha currently works on the ‘Excellence Hub’, which is an internal tool that provides insights into Teams and Project delivery health, focusing on productivity, engineering excellence, and quality assurance, which also allows the Delivery Excellence Team to conduct their assessments.

He’s also an important part of R&D work related to AR, VR and MR, and is the technical force behind the Sysco LABS Delivery Dash game installation which we set up during our career days. During his free time, he loves developing games and watching movies.
