The boys showed resilience after losing the first match and came back strong to win the second match by 8 wickets, securing a wonderful victory for the team.

Last Monday, the U-15 Boys competed against the U-15 team from Galagedara Center College. It is pleasing to witness the boys' continuous improvement with each passing day.

The U-17 team had a strong start, scoring 192 runs in 26 overs, with Hanan leading the way with 73 runs. Yoosuf contributed with an unbeaten 39 runs, while Munshif scored 19 runs. In response, the U-15 team's bowlers performed well, with Hussain taking 3 wickets in just 3.3 overs and Abdurahman Ishak taking 2 wickets in 3 overs. In their second innings, the U-15 team successfully chased down the target, scoring 193 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 31 overs. Abdurahman Naeem played a crucial role with an unbeaten 41 runs, supported by Aiyoob Farahan with 12 runs and Rifah with 9 runs. The U-15 team emerged victorious, winning the match by 4 wickets. Hussain was recognized as the best bowler of the match, Hanan as the best batsman, and Abdurahman Naeem as the man of the match.

Today, a friendly 50-over match between Al-Manar U-15 and U-17 took place at Kandy Vidhyaraththa turf ground.

It is truly gratifying to witness our young cricketers putting in consistent effort to prepare for the upcoming tournament. Their commitment and perseverance are truly admirable.

The U-15 and U-17 teams, consisting of talented young cricketers, were thrilled to receive their brand new practice jerseys yesterday at the highly anticipated Ifthar event. This event, which brought together players, coaches, and supporters, was a momentous occasion that marked the beginning of an exciting chapter for these budding sports stars.

Al-Manar Cricket organized an iftar program for the school cricketers, school principal, some staff, and SDC members. We appreciate all the participants and are pleased to see our cricket team progressing.

Five students from our school attended a fast bowling camp (March 4th 2024) at Pallegala International Ground, organized by the Kandy District Cricket Association. It was a valuable experience for the boys to take part in this event. U-13 Yoosuf, U-15 Aakib and Munshif, and U-17 Mushaf and Hanan were the participants from our school.

Alhamdulillah, We are pleased to announce that starting in November 2023, we have introduced hard ball cricket for students aged U-11 to U-17 at our school.

This new addition to our sports program aims to provide our students with the opportunity to develop their cricket skills and compete at a higher level.

We believe that participating in hard ball cricket will not only enhance their physical abilities but also teach them important values such as teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

We are confident that our students will excel in this new endeavor and make us proud with their dedication and passion for the sport.
