🔔 ගල් යුගයේ මානවයන් හමුවී අප වෙත එන C/2022 E3

තාරකා විද්‍යා ලෝලියෙකු නිරීක්ෂණයට ප්‍රිය කරන සිදුවීම් අතර ධූමකේතුවක් හෙවත් වල්ගාතරුවක් යනු තරමක් සුවිශේෂ සංසිද්ධියක් වෙයි. පියවි ඇසට පෙනෙන ධූමකේතුවක් නිරීක්ෂණය එම සංසිද්ධීන් අතරින් මිනිස් ජීවිත කාලය තුළ ලැබෙන විරලතම අත්දැකීමකි. ඉදිරි සති කිහිපයේ දී C/2022 E3 ධූමකේතුව තාරකා විද්‍යා ලෝලීන් හමුවේ එවන් අවස්ථාවක් උදාකරනු ඇත.

ධූමකේතුවක් (Comet) යනු දිගු ඉලිප්සාකාර කක්ෂයක් සහිත කුඩා අභ්‍යවකාශ වස්තුවකි. සෞරග්‍රහ මණ්ඩලයේ පර්යන්ත කලාපයේ සිට සූර්යයා දෙසට ඇදී එන විට අප නිරීක්ෂණයට ලක්වන මෙම වස්තූන්හි අන්තර්ගත වෙන්නේ ඝනීභවනය වූ හයිඩ්‍රජන් සල්ෆයිඩ්, මීතේන්, කාබන්ඩයොක්සයිඩ් වැනි වායු සහ මෙතනෝල් වැනි සං‍යෝග මුසු වූ අයිස් වේ. සූර්යයා වෙත සමීප වීමේදී උෂ්ණත්වය වැඩිවීමෙන් ක්‍රමයෙන් දියවන අයිස් අංශු ධූමකේතුවේ දේහයෙන් පසුපසට විහිදෙන අතර මෙලෙස විහිදෙන අංශු මතට පතනය වන සූර්යාලෝකය පරාවර්තනයට ලක්වීමෙන් දිලිසෙන දුහුවිලි වල්ගයක් (dust tail) නිර්මාණය වේ. (වල්ගාතරුවක දුහුවිලි වල්ගයක් සහ අයන වල්ගයක් (ion tail) ලෙස වල්ග දෙකක් පවතියි. අයන වල්ගය නිර්මාණය වන්නේ කොමාවේ අයන අංශු මගින් ය).

සෞරග්‍රහ මණ්ඩලයේ ශීතාධික කලාපයන්හිදී නිර්මාණය වුණු අභ්‍යවකාශ වස්තු වන බැවින් බොහෝවිට ධූමකේතුවක පරිභ්‍රමණ කාලය වසර දහස් ගණනක් පමණ වුව දිගු විය හැකිය. එබැවින් බොහෝ ධූමකේතු නිරීක්ෂණය කළ හැක්කේ මිනිස් ජීවිත කාලය තුළ එක්වරක් පමණි. ආවර්තී නොවන ධුමකේතු (Non-Periodic Comet) ලෙස හඳුන්වන මෙවන් ධූමකේතු ගණයට C/2022 E3 ද ඇතුළත් වන්නේ වසර 50,000ක පමණ දිගු ආවර්ත කාලයක් හිමි කරගනිමින් ය. විද්‍යාඥයන් පෙන්වාදෙන පරිදි මින් පෙර එය සෞරග්‍රහ මණ්ඩලයේ අභ්‍යන්තර ග්‍රහ කලාපය හරහා ගමන් කරන්නට ඇත්තේ උපරි පේලියෝලිතික (Upper Paleolithic) හෝ පුරාණ ගල් යුගයේදී (Old Stone Age) වේ.

C/2022 E3 ධූමකේතුව ප්‍රථමයෙන් නිරීක්ෂණයට ලක්ව තිබුණේ 2022 වර්ෂයේ මාර්තු මස 2 වැනි දින දකුණු කැලිෆෝනියාවේ පිහිටි පැලොමාර් නිරීක්ෂණාගාරය විසින් ය. සූර්යයා දෙසට පැමිණෙමින් සිටි මෙම ධූමකේතුව ඒ වන විට සූර්යයාගෙන් කිලෝමීටර මිලියන 643 ක් (සැතපුම් මිලියන 399 ක්) පමණ දුරින් එනම් බ්‍රහස්පති සමීපයෙහි පිහිටි අතර සාමාන්‍ය දුරේක්ෂයන්ට නිරීක්ෂණය කළ නොහැකි මට්ටමේ අඩු දෘශ්‍ය දීප්ත විශාලනයක් සතු විය. නිරීක්ෂණාගාරයෙන් හඳුනාගන්නා විටදී තදින් ඝනීභවනය වූ කොමාවකින් සමන්විත වූ නමුත් මේ වන විට එය සාමාන්‍ය දුරේක්ෂයකින් නිරීක්ෂණය කළ හැකි මට්ටමකින්; එනම් +7.5 ක පමණ දෘශ්‍ය දීප්ත විශාලනයකින් දර්ශනය වෙයි.

මේ වන විට C/2022 E3 තම කක්ෂයේ සූර්ය සමීපකයට; එනම් උපහේලිකය (Perihelion) ආසන්නයට ළඟාවී ඇති අතර මෙම ජනවාරි 13 වැනි දින ශ්‍රී ලංකා වේලාවෙන් පෙ.ව. 9.30 ට පමණ සූර්යයාට කිලෝමීටර මිලියන 166.4 ක් (නක්ෂත්‍ර ඒකක 1.1 ක්) පමණ ආසන්නයෙන් ගමන් කිරීමට නියමිත ය. එහිදී මෙම ධූමකේතුවේ කක්ෂයෙහි යම් වෙනස්කම් සිදුවීමෙහි සම්භාවිතාවක් පවතී. ඉන් අනතුරුව පෙබරවාරි මස ආරම්භයේ දී එහි ආසන්නතම පෘථිවි ප්‍රවේශය සිදු කිරීමට නියමිත ය. එළැඹෙන පෙබරවාරි 2 වැනි දින C/2022 E3 පෘථිවියේ සිට කිලෝමීටර මිලියන 42 ක් (නක්ෂත්‍ර ඒකක 0.29 ක්) පමණ ආසන්නයෙන් ගමන් කිරීමට නියමිත ය. ගණනය කිරීම් අනුව ඒ වන විට ධූමකේතුවෙ හි දෘශ්‍ය දීප්ත විශාලනය +5.4 ක පමණ අගයක් වන බවට අපේක්ෂා කෙරෙයි. +5.4 ක අගයක් යනු ආලෝක දූෂණය අවම ස්ථානයක සිට පියවි ඇසින් ධූමකේතුවක් නිරීක්ෂණය කළ හැකි අගයකි. මේ දිනයන්හි ප්‍රකාශ උපකරණ ආධාරයෙන් Corona Borealis තාරකා රාශිය මත නිරීක්ෂණය කළ හැකි C/2022 E3 පෙබරවාරි මස ආරම්භයේදී Camelopardalis තාරකා රාශිය මත පියවි ඇසින් නිරීක්ෂණය කළ හැකි වනු ඇත.

බොහෝ ධූමකේතු මෙන් මෙම ධූමකේතුවේ ද කක්ෂීය විකේන්ද්‍රිකතා අගය 1 ඉක්මවන අතර ඉලිප්සාකාර නොවන පාරාවලයික කක්ෂ පථ පෙන්නුම් කරයි. මෙවැනි බොහොමයක් අභ්‍යවකාශ වස්තු සූර්යයා වටා සංවෘත කක්ෂයකට නතු නොවී ගැඹුරු අභ්‍යවකාශය වෙත ගමන් කරන බැවින් බොහෝ දුරට මෙය C/2022 E3 අප සෞරග්‍රහ මණ්ඩලය හරහා ගමන් කරන අවසන් අවස්ථාව වනු ඇත.

මේ ඔබ දකින්නේ Messier 88 එසේත් නැතිනම් M88 නම් මණ්දාකිණියයි. මේ මණ්දාකිණියේ පවතින විශේෂත්වය වන්නේ සර්පිලාකාර ස්වරූපය ඉතාමත් පැහැදිලිවම පෙන්නුම් කරවීමයි. ඒ වගේම Virgo මණ්දාකිණි පොකුරේ දීප්තියෙන් වැඩිම මණ්දාකිණියක් ලෙසට M88 හදුන්වනවා. විද්‍යාඥයින් නව තාරකා බිහිවීම් අධ්‍යයනය කිරීමට, මණ්දාකිණි වල පවතින දුහුවිලි සහ වායුන් පිලිබද ගැඹුරෙන් අධ්‍යනය කිරීමට මෙම මණ්දාකිණි පොකුරේ පවතින මෙවැනි මණ්දාකිණි යොදාගනී.

මෙය ආලෝක වර්ෂ 100,000ක් පුරාවට විහිදී පවතින අතර පෘථිවියේ සිට ආලෝක වර්ෂ මිලියන 47ක් පමණ දුරකින් පිහිටා ඇත. ගණනය කර ඇති ආකාරයට තාරකා බිලියන 400ක් පමණ අඩංගු මෙම මණ්දාකිණිය වසර බිලියන 13ක් පමණ පැරණි වේ. ඒ වගේම මේ මණ්දාකිණිය ප්‍රථම වරට සොයාගෙන තිබෙන්නේ කීර්තිමත් තාරකා විද්‍යාඥවරයෙක් වෙන සර් චාල්ස් මෙසියර් විසින් ක්‍රිව. 1781 වසර තුලයි ❤️

මණ්දාකිණියේ බාහු වල නිල් වර්ණයෙන් පවතින්නේ නිල් යෝධ තරුණ තාරකා වන අතර රෝස පැහැයෙන් නව බිහිවන තාරකා කලාපයන් එනම් නිහාරිකාවන් දක්නට ලැබේ. මණ්දාකිණියේ මධ්‍යයේ පැරණි තාරකා එනම් මියයාමට ආසන්න තාරකා බහුල බැවින් කහ වර්ණයක් නිකුත් කරයි.

November 1 - Moon at First Quarter

The Moon will be half-illuminated as seen from the Earth. It will become visible around 17:40 PST, 51° above your southern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then sink towards the horizon, setting at 23:00 PST.

November 8 - Total Lunar Eclipse

The Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow and will be partially eclipsed between 17:10 and 20:49. It will be visible from Quezon City in the eastern sky. The Moon will lie 23° above the horizon at the midpoint of the eclipse. The total lunar eclipse will last from 18:17 until 19:42.

November 8 - Full Moon

The Moon will be fully illuminated as seen from the Earth. At this time of the month, it is visible for much of the night, rising at around dusk and setting at around dawn.

November 12 - Northern Taurid Meteor Shower

The Northern Taurid Meteor Shower will be active from October 20 to December 10, with its highest rate of activity occurring on November 13 at about 02:00 PST. The shower is anticipated to produce a nominal rate of approximately 5 meteors per hour when it is at its peak (ZHR). Over this period, there will be a chance of seeing Northern Taurid meteors whenever the shower's radiant point – in the constellation Ta**us – is above the horizon.

November 16 - Moon at Last Quarter

The Moon will be half-illuminated as seen from the Earth. It will become visible around 23:45 PST, reaching an altitude of 82° above the north-eastern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then sink towards the horizon, setting at 05:40 PST.

November 18 - Leonid Meteor Shower

The Leonid Meteor Shower will be active from November 6 to November 30, with its highest rate of activity occurring on November 18 at about 08:00 PST. The shower is anticipated to produce a nominal rate of approximately 15 meteors per hour when it is at its peak (ZHR). Over this period, there will be a chance of seeing Leonid meteors whenever the shower's radiant point – in the constellation Leo – is above the horizon.

November 18 - M45 is Well Placed

The Pleiades open star cluster,, in Ta**us will be well placed, high in the sky. It will reach its highest point in the sky at around midnight local time. It will be visible in the morning sky, becoming accessible around 18:22 PST, when it reaches an altitude of 12° above your north-eastern horizon. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 23:52, 80° above your northern horizon. It will be lost to dawn twilight around 05:21, 13° above your western horizon.

November 21 - α-Monocerotid Meteor Shower

The α-Monocerotid Meteor Shower will be active from November 15 to November 25, with its highest rate of activity occurring on November 22 at about 07:00 PST. The shower's nominal rate may vary depending on its activity (ZHR). Over this period, there will be a chance of seeing α-Monocerotid meteors whenever the shower's radiant point – in the constellation Canis Minor – is above the horizon.

November 24 - New Moon

The Moon, as it passes close to the Sun, will lose its glare for a few days.

November 28 - November Orionid Meteor Shower

The November Orionid Meteor Shower will be active from November 13 to December 6, with its highest rate of activity occurring on November 28 at about 22:00 PST. The shower is anticipated to produce a nominal rate of approximately 3 meteors per hour when it is at its peak (ZHR). Over this period, there will be a chance of seeing November Orionid meteors whenever the shower's radiant point – in the constellation Orion – is above the horizon.

November 30 - Moon at First Quarter

The Moon will be half-illuminated as seen from the Earth. It will become visible around 17:38 PST, 61° above your southern horizon, as dusk fades to darkness. It will then sink towards the horizon, setting at 23:16 PST.

Astronomical events in November 2022.... Don't miss ....🔭🌠🌌❣️.

November 4, 5 - Taurids Meteor Shower. The Taurids is a long-running minor meteor shower producing only about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is unusual in that it consists of two separate streams. The first is produced by dust grains left behind by Asteroid 2004 TG10. The second stream is produced by debris left behind by Comet 2P Encke. The shower runs annually from September 7 to December 10. It peaks this year on the the night of November 4. This year the nearly full moon will block out all but the brightest meteors. But if you are patient, you may still be able to catch a few good ones. Best viewing will be just after midnight from a dark location far away from city lights. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Ta**us, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

November 8 - Full Moon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be will be fully illuminated. This phase occurs at 11:03 UTC. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Beaver Moon because this was the time of year to set the beaver traps before the swamps and rivers froze. It has also been known as the Frosty Moon and the Dark Moon.

November 8 - Total Lunar Eclipse. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth's dark shadow, or umbra. During this type of eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker and then take on a rusty or blood red color. The eclipse will be visible throughout eastern Russia, Japan, Australia, the Pacific Ocean, and parts of western and central North America.

November 9 - Uranus at Opposition. The blue-green planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. This is the best time to view Uranus. Due to its distance, it will only appear as a tiny blue-green dot in all but the most powerful telescopes.

November 17, 18 - Leonids Meteor Shower. The Leonids is an average shower, producing an average of up to 15 meteors per hour at its peak. This shower is unique in that it has a cyclonic peak about every 33 years where hundreds of meteors per hour can be seen. That last of these occurred in 2001. The Leonids is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tempel-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1865. The shower runs annually from November 6-30. It peaks this year on the night of the 17th and morning of the 18th. The second quarter moon will block many of the fainter meteors this year. But the Leonids can be unpredictable so there is still potential for a good show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Leo, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

November 23 - New Moon. The Moon will located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This phase occurs at 22:58 UTC. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere.

Orionids to kick off prolonged stretch of fall meteor showers The next month might as well be known as meteor shower season, as up to four separate shooting star events will take place in the night sky.
