10 minutes of excellent surf breaks and great restaurants at nearby Marissa and Weligama
beaches. Look out your windows past your coconut, mango, papaya, ambarella and avocado
trees, over your own rice paddy all organic and available for your use to the hills of the
adjoining cinnamontree plantation. The house itself was recently built on the family plot and was designed to be cooled by the natural
breezes of the tranquil, verdant valley it rests in. Each of the upstairs bedrooms has a small
private balcony that affords views of the beautiful tropical surroundings, and off the upstairs sitting
room is a larger balcony that looks out over the rice paddies a great place for bird watching,
beers or both. Old and new are here together: the rustic country kitchen retains a traditional Sri
Lankan woodfired cooking hearth, while you'll enjoy these modern conveniences:

The owners, Dr. Malika and her husband Heti
Sri Lankan cuisine is an incredible fusion of Indian complexity with tropical ingredients and Asian
influences. One of the pleasures of a stay at the villa is the option of enjoying organic farmto-
table meals using homegrown rice, fresh ingredients grown by nearby farmers in the village, and
seafood sourced from local fishermen. Dr. Malika is available for personal chef services including
from one to three meals per day and is happy to accommodate any dietary preferences you might
have. Much of this is traditionally cooked over a fire. Choose from Sri Lankan, Indian, and
Western fare and as an Ayurvedic doctor, she can provide healing meals from that tradition as
well. Services are offered for a very modest additional charge, price upon request. MEET YOUR HOSTS
Heti Retired Sri Lankan shipboard radiooperator and world traveler, gentleman farmer and co-
owner of the house. An immeasurably friendly and excellent resource, he speaks English, Greek
and Sinhala (the local language). He's spent about a decade in virtually every country in the
world, so he has some amazing stories and most of all he knows what travelers need he'll take
great care of you. Malika A knowledgeable, patient and sweet retired Sri Lankan Ayurvedic Doctor, and an

As guests, you have the entire house, including the organic mango, papaya, ambarella, avocado
and coconut trees around the house. Heti and/or Malika will discreetly stay in a separate, detached building in order to help you with
anything you might need while assuring your privacy. The Neighborhood
Surf the nearby breaks all levels will enjoy the forgiving sandybottomed beachbreak in
Weligama Bay, while intermediate/advanced surfers (and intrepid beginners) will be stoked on the
many nearby point and reefbreaks. All are usually uncrowded for maximum shreddage. Rentals
and lessons available. Check out the neighborhood farms where your organic produce is grown; take a walk through the
cinnamon plantation behind the house. Shop for fresh produce, fish, meat, etc. at the large farmer's market down the lane. Much of it is
organic and pretty much everything is local. Experience worldclass blue whale and s***m whale watching in nearby Marissa. Go on a safari and see wild elephants, leopards, monkeys, foxes, crocodiles, deer, water buffalo,
and peacocks. See batik artisans at work just down the lane, or visit a tea plantation. Visit Buddhist temples (a scenic 10 minute walk away), Hindu temples, Muslim mosques and
Christian churches. Visit the stilt fishermen in nearby Kogalla and try it yourself if you'd like. Go sport fishing and expect great results Weligama is an active fishing village. Getting around
Getting around is easy and the country lanes around the villa are worth wandering on in their own

First of all, have an awesome time! Checkin and checkout times are "flexible" depending on your ideal times, those of other guests,
and our work schedule.we we make every effort to make things convenient for you, and Hetti
can almost always break away to meet you. Reference times: checkout 11am; checkin 1pm
(cleaning/laundry ). Please lock the house and turn off fans when you leave.Any use of the house,
appliances, etc. is undertaken at your own risk. Again, most of all: have fun! It's a HOUSE RULE!
