The World Economic Forum stated in their Global Gender Gap Report that female talent in finance is still one of the most untapped resources. According to this report, there are only around 6% of women in senior positions.

These numbers are concerning, that is why it is imperative for organisations to consider creating more diverse environments, training, development and mentorship opportunities geared specifically towards women.

Organisations are starting to wake up to the change that is needed to amplify women in leadership.

The move towards a four-day work week over the last few months throughout the world has been met with positive feedback. Looking at the financial sector specifically, it has been noted that firms that can implement a 32-hour work week will have an increase in productivity, and efficiency as well as an increased state of employee wellbeing.

Finextra (2022) also mentions that the promise of a flexible workweek is a drawing card for new talent and it also increases the retention of current employees. This feedback is so interesting because there has been a struggle to retain talent in the financial industry for years.
