Varbūt tad šādi: This month, we step away from the board, taking a creative pause.
Recap from Chess for Creativity vol.19
The moments captured during the last event reflect the dynamic atmosphere and collective wisdom everyone brought to the table. Just like a well-crafted move in chess, each step was intentional, revealing deeper layers of strategy and creativity as the event unfolded.
As the pieces reset, so will we — recharging before we dive back into the game with sharpened focus and fresh creativity, ready for the next move.
Lock in the date for the next round — we’ll be back.
Stay sharp. See you next month!

Kuldigas Restaurant.
First of the three-building construction complex.
Designed upon a disused Soviet-era warehouse. The architectural vision involved transforming the space into a restaurant that seamlessly integrated into the city skyline.
The facade design, taking inspiration from the local garage’s “basket” concept, and the roof, adorned with clay tiles, harmoniously blend tradition with contemporary design.
At a distance, the building resembles a barn, yet upon closer look, intricate details emerge, enriching the observer’s experience.

One from the archives: HL Studio - a tile showroom salon. HL Studija
The narrative of this interior began with an extensive exploration of the client's business, future objectives, and daily store operations. Our research involved visits to various competitor stores and successful tile sellers in other countries.
Subsequently, we crafted an interior aimed at enhancing both sales and the overall user experience within the studio. Every detail was designed to provide insights into various technical solutions and possibilities, creating an inspirational journey for shop visitors throughout the entire space.

Our recent interior design for Starlab, a fintech software brand, was crafted around four core values: bold, playful, clever, and confident.
Following a "less is more" approach, we maximised the use of existing materials to reduce costs, with the exception of a new flooring finish for a polished concrete look. The provided images offer a general view of the office's specific elements and overall atmosphere.

One of our studio’s latest works was to develop a six-building complex within surrounding of post-Soviet urban environment, that represent the interaction of modern, rational architecture of the moment. The basis of the concept is to combine the above-mentioned aspects in the form of a village typology - environment, which has its own central square, promenade, parks and streets. We chose houses at different heights with different roof shapes and different tonalities to diversify the environment.
As our studio's one of directions is art, we always try to include it within or design and architectural projects as well. This time we got inspired by the constructivist style artist’s Gustavs Klučs - the Supremacist composition "Dynamic city" – for the color solution of building facades (each building individually and the whole complex) – a pastel color palette for subdued and elegant appearance.
